00:00 Welcome to Mojo Plays and today we are showcasing the 10 best side quests in The Legend of Zelda
00:10 Tears of the Kingdom.
00:18 Whether it's because they feature great characterization, earn you an awesome reward,
00:23 or are just plain fun, these are the best side adventures to track down in Tears of
00:28 the Kingdom.
00:29 However, there are plenty of others we had to leave off the list, so be sure to head
00:33 to the comments and let us know what your favorite side quest was.
00:37 Before we begin, we publish new content all week long, so be sure to subscribe and ring
00:42 the bell to get notified about our latest videos.
00:46 The Dive Ceremonies
00:54 Some armor sets can be a bit of a pain to unlock, but the glide armor is not one of
00:58 them.
00:59 Within the Sky Islands, Link can find three tests that task him with diving through groups
01:03 of light rings from an incredible height.
01:05 One is at the Courage Island of Central Hyrule's Sky, one at Bravery Island of the North Hyrule
01:11 Sky Archipelago, and one at Valor Island of the South Lanayru Sky Archipelago.
01:17 The diving mechanics of Tears are always a blast, so these ceremonies are a joy to conquer.
01:22 More importantly, the glide armor you earn makes maneuvering while diving smoother, and
01:27 therefore more fun than it already was.
01:30 Plus, wearing a twice upgraded full set negates all fall damage, which is just too useful
01:36 in a game where you're constantly hurling towards the ground.
01:46 Serenading the Great Fairies
01:48 In Breath of the Wild, you unlocked access to each Great Fairy by paying increasingly
01:53 larger sums of rupees, which was actually pretty lame.
01:57 Comparatively, accessing them in Tears is much more enjoyable.
02:01 Each of the four Great Fairies wants to hear a specific instrument, which requires Link
02:05 to track down members of the Hylian band, the Stabletrotters.
02:09 Mastro and Violin are found at the Woodland Stable, but the Conductor will tell you locations
02:14 for the other three.
02:15 Side quests to get them to rejoin aren't too taxing, and it's great seeing each instrument
02:20 added to the performances for each fairy.
02:23 It's also delightful hearing them play Epona's song every time you visit a stable.
02:33 But the undeniable best perk of doing this is being able to upgrade your armor to the
02:37 max.
02:45 Misko's Treasure, The Fierce Deity
02:56 Many armor sets in Tears of the Kingdom pay homage to past versions of Link.
03:00 Most of them are found in chests in the depths, with their locations being revealed by maps
03:05 found on Sky Islands.
03:07 The Fierce Deity armor, on the other hand, gets its own side quest in the form of a scavenger
03:11 hunt.
03:12 After completing Misko's Cave of Chests, a message in a bottle tells you to head to
03:16 the bedchamber of Akala's Red-Crowned Citadel, the Skull's Left Eye, and an old stump in
03:21 Hyrule Field.
03:23 The mystery of the exact locations and what you'll find there makes things a bit more
03:27 fun.
03:28 But the armor also grants you an attack boost and can earn you the Fierce Deity Sword, one
03:33 of the strongest two-handed weapons in the game.
03:36 Plus, Link just looks so cool.
03:42 Team Cece, or Team Reed
03:51 While the name of this quest implies a choice, the linear outcome is still delightful, as
03:56 is anything that has to do with the cozy Hateno Village.
04:00 When Link first arrives, there will be obvious strain between the traditional Mayor Reed
04:04 and the flamboyant fashion designer Cece.
04:07 This strife will open up several smaller quests, as both think they are the best fit to run
04:12 the town.
04:13 While finding the eight Reed supporters is a bit tedious, the other portions all deal
04:17 with the two competitors growing to better understand one another.
04:21 Reed could do with a little innovation, while Cece must admit the town's strong foundation
04:25 in farming.
04:26 The outcome, where they agree to co-lead, is pretty wholesome.
04:34 Infiltrating the Yiga Clan
04:40 While you do have to track down their armor set to make it inside, it is more than worth
04:44 doing so to explore the Yiga Clan hideout.
04:47 Instead of having to stealth your way through like in the first game, you can roam freely
04:51 here.
04:52 The silly henchmen have some of the most humorous dialogue in the game.
04:56 One here even tells you some members dress up as trees to ambush Link.
05:00 There are also great rewards including a shrine and custom deadly vehicle designs you
05:05 can purchase.
05:07 More importantly though, is gaining access to the clan's combat training.
05:11 Within a set time, defeating three enemies earns new paraglider fabric, six gets you
05:16 the hands-free earthquake attack, and nine gets you the lightning helm, granting immunity
05:21 to electric damage.
05:30 Create the Typhlo Ruins
05:37 Who doesn't love a good riddle?
05:39 Well, how about four?
05:41 In Breath of the Wild, we couldn't fully appreciate Typhlo Ruins as they were surrounded
05:45 by mystical darkness.
05:47 But in Tears, players could pore over and further theorize about its Zonai Ruins.
05:52 Not only does the location have lore significance, but it holds a riddle for each of the four
05:57 main sages.
05:58 Each brain teaser corresponds to some of the surrounding statues, and uses a specific
06:02 sage ability around them.
06:04 These riddles add a bit of fun and a layer of interactivity to a place we already wanted
06:09 to investigate.
06:10 Completing them also gets you several valuable gems, and the Dusk Claymore, which on top
06:15 of being a cool Twilight Princess nod, is pretty dang powerful.
06:28 The Mysterious Eight
06:36 One of the biggest mysteries in Breath of the Wild concerned the seven heroines of Gerudo
06:40 history.
06:42 Players learned of a secret eighth, though the nature of their existence was a big mystery
06:46 until Tears.
06:48 Inside the Gerudo town shelter, Link can meet the historian Rotana.
06:52 After completing one quest for her, he'll need to track down seven orbs.
06:57 Some are lying around town, while others take a bit more effort.
07:00 But with each piece of the puzzle, our desire to uncover the mystery grew.
07:04 Turns out, the eighth heroine was actually a hero, who helped aid the seven long ago,
07:09 but wasn't allowed the spoils of victory due to being male.
07:13 You can help yourself to the bounty left to honor him, which includes Gerudo weapons,
07:17 gems, and 300 rupees.
07:27 Madison's Independence
07:34 The most fulfilling side quest in Breath of the Wild saw Link help build an entire community
07:39 with Hudson.
07:40 The construction extraordinaire returns in Tears, still married to the Gerudo Ronson,
07:45 and the two now have a daughter named Madison.
07:47 Sadly, it's Gerudo tradition for children of a certain age to leave their homes and
07:52 venture to the desert.
07:54 During the quest, you'll help Madison say goodbye to her home in her own way, as well
07:58 as help Hudson say goodbye by building a hot air balloon for her to travel in.
08:03 The resulting scene is touching to say the least.
08:06 Afterwards, you'll be able to build your own home on a cliff overlooking Tarrytown,
08:10 but it's the emotional gratification that makes this one special.
08:18 The Lomai Labyrinths
08:25 Just like in Breath of the Wild, the Lomai Labyrinths are the most entertaining shrine
08:29 quest you can find in Tears.
08:31 At the three gloom-covered labyrinths on the surface, Link must follow a trail of pine
08:36 cones left by a researcher to make it to the center.
08:39 Doing so earns access to a corresponding labyrinth in the sky.
08:43 These are where the true fun begins.
08:45 None of them have a floor, but feature low gravity so Link can paraglide through the
08:49 maze.
08:51 After activating all of their hidden terminals, Link can then dive from the sky all the way
08:56 to the depths, where a Flux Construct 3 awaits with a piece of the Evil Spirit armor.
09:02 Every single aspect of these is so much fun, we wish there were 10 more.
09:14 Potential Princess Sightings
09:21 While the Great Fairy quests branch out of this one, there is so much else to report
09:26 on for the Lucky Clover Gazette.
09:28 In the Hebra region, Link can sign on as a reporter for the paper and track down news
09:33 stories about Zelda at every stable.
09:35 Granted, some are better than others.
09:37 Our personal favorites involved exposing a fake psychic cuckoo and clearing a cave of
09:42 monsters without any gear or weapons.
09:44 Regardless of which ones you prefer, this quest does a lot to further build up the world
09:49 as well as add some subtle characterization for the princess.
09:52 Plus, you get all kinds of fantastic rewards as you go, including boatloads of money, a
09:59 rare new horse, and the Froggy armor set, which grants you slip resistance when climbing
10:04 wet surfaces.
10:12 Check out these other great clips from Mojo Plays, and be sure to subscribe and ring the
