00:00Welcome to Mojo Plays and today we're looking at side quests in The Legend of Zelda that
00:14are huge time commitments.
00:17Get ready for a lot of collect-a-thons.
00:28But before we get into it, we publish new content all week long, so be sure to subscribe
00:32and ring the bell to get notified about our latest videos.
00:37Rabbit Land Rescue, The Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks
00:48Not long after the first section of Spirit Tracks, Link will find Rabbit Land Rescue,
00:53where he meets the bunny-loving, Bunny-o.
00:55He'll give you rewards, mostly rupees and treasure, as you catch rabbits hidden across
01:00the five areas of the game.
01:02There are 50 in total.
01:04They'll hide behind boulders, which you must shoot with your cannon before trying to catch
01:08them within 10 seconds, or they run away.
01:21Some are naturally slippier than others, and can be a nuisance.
01:25But what really makes this quest take up time is the fact that some rabbits are found
01:30near hidden tracks, which you can only reach by doing other side quests.
01:34For all 50, Link gains the ability to shoot sword beams when at full health, which is
01:39nice, but not exactly worth it.
01:47The Poe Souls, The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess
02:01Once upon a time, Giovanni sold his soul for riches, which came with the unfortunate side
02:06effect of being turned to gold.
02:09In order to rescue him, Link must track down and defeat 60 poes across the game, and collect
02:14their souls.
02:16As you might expect, some are easy to find, but many others require a lot of exploring
02:20and digging.
02:31Collecting 20 souls gets you a bottle of great fairy tears, while collecting all 60 essentially
02:36gets you unlimited money, 200 rupees upon every visit to Hyrule to be exact.
02:42This was made easier in the HD remaster, as the bottle reward was replaced by the ghost
02:46lantern, which lit up when Link was near a Poe.
02:49But it's still a major devotion of time.
02:58Anju and Caffe, The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask
03:10Technically, the optional Fierce Deity Mask requires you to complete most side quests
03:15in Majora's Mask.
03:16But since you still can't get it until right before the final boss, we're gonna talk
03:21about Anju and Caffe.
03:22The woman who runs Clock Town's hotel is distraught over the recent disappearance of
03:26her fiancé, Caffe, whom she's meant to marry at the town festival in three days.
03:31Unknown to her, he was not only cursed into a child form by the Skull Kid, but was robbed
03:37of his ceremonial wedding mask.
03:39And it's up to Link to help both of them.
03:50This quest has more moving parts and characters than any other in the game.
03:55Given the game's time loop structure, missing a key moment or making a mistake can be devastating,
04:00as it means you'll have to start the whole process over.
04:14The Nintendo Gallery, The Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker
04:27In Wind Waker, Link can show pictographs of enemies and characters to Karlov, who turns
04:32them into figurines.
04:34But there are some important caveats.
04:36First, you have to upgrade your PictoBox through a smaller quest so you can take colored pictographs.
04:42Karlov also won't accept pictographs where the subject isn't facing the camera, or
04:47ones that don't show enough of their body, which is obviously pretty hard to get for
04:51most enemies and bosses.
04:56Additionally, there are a few legendary pictographs that cost 50 rupees each, and certain others
05:06that can be missed, requiring a second playthrough if you do.
05:11It's another quest made easier in the HD remaster.
05:13The Deluxe PictoBox is available from the start, and holds 12 pictures instead of 3,
05:18and successful ones are marked with an icon so you don't waste any time.
05:23With 134 figurines in total though, the original version is a beast.
05:35Mother Miami's Missing Children The Legend of Zelda A Link Between Worlds
05:46Upon meeting Mother Miami in A Link Between Worlds, players would be smart to help her
05:51out.
05:52For every 10 of her missing children that Link binds and returns to her, she will upgrade
05:56one of his weapons, making it far more destructive than it was.
05:59However, with 100 missing babies in total, finding them all obviously takes a lot of
06:05time.
06:14At least they cry out whenever Link is near one, but 100 is still a fairly large number,
06:19and it isn't as if you'll always have the necessary gear to reach them when you
06:22hear them.
06:23Getting rewards at every interval of 10 makes it more worthwhile, but for your effort in
06:27finding them all, Mother Miami grants Link the Great Spin attack.
06:42The Gold Skulltulas The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time
06:47Ah, the classics.
06:58In Ocarina of Time, Link meets a cursed family in Kakariko Village, who will only be at peace
07:03if you destroy Gold Skulltulas and collect the tokens they leave behind.
07:07There are 100 hidden throughout the game across both time periods.
07:12While they do make a telltale sound, you can go the whole game without ever coming
07:16across at least half of them.
07:18In fact, you get a reward after every group of 10, including bigger wallets.
07:30But after 50, you don't get another reward until you complete the quest.
07:35After 100, you're given an endless flow of rupees, but at that point, you probably
07:40won't have much need for them.
07:49The Hunt for Bubble Frogs The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
08:00Tears of the Kingdom features multiple time-suck side quests.
08:03Who out there is still searching for all those Addison signs?
08:07But today, we're talking about the 147 caves hidden across the world.
08:12In order to complete Colton's quest, Link must delve into each and every one of them,
08:17kill the Bubble Frog hiding within, and collect the gem it drops.
08:27Given that Tears is a huge open world game, finding all these caves obviously takes a
08:32lot of exploring.
08:33There are certain things to make it easier.
08:35You can set your sensor to Bubble Frog, and light up caves by visiting a Cherry Blossom
08:40Tree.
08:41But that still lights up caves you've been to, and some feature labyrinthine designs.
08:45You get rewards through 46 gems, but it takes 101 more before you get Colton's Paraglider
08:52Fabric.
08:58Batreaux's Gratitude The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword
09:09Batreaux is one of Skyloft's most interesting citizens, a monster with dreams of being human.
09:15In order for him to achieve this dream, Link must bring him 80 Gratitude Crystals, some
09:19of which are hidden in specific spots, but most of which are earned by completing various
09:24other side quests.
09:26Naturally, since side quests appear at different points in the story, this takes an awful long
09:31time.
09:32However, even looking at how long it takes to complete all these individual quests, Batreaux
09:36still deserves his spot.
09:45Most of the quests are still fun though, and it's a bit more interesting than other Zelda
09:49collectathons.
09:50Plus, you get rewards throughout, mostly different sized wallets, and it's nice seeing Batreaux
09:56finally take on the form he's meant to be.
10:06The Koroks The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild
10:09Well, this one should come as no surprise.
10:19As most of you know, there are 900 Koroks hidden across Breath of the Wild, which is,
10:24frankly, absurd.
10:26Stumbling upon one is usually fun, as they're normally accompanied by a small but engaging
10:31environmental puzzle.
10:33Plus, collecting their poo, I mean, seeds, is the only way to expand how many weapons
10:38and shields you can carry, so they're definitely worth doing, to a certain extent.
10:49But you'll eventually reach a limit on how much space you really need, and there will
10:53still be hundreds of these little rascals left.
10:56Finding them all is only for the biggest completionists, and your reward will be a literal, even bigger
11:02piece of crap from Hestu.
11:04Tears of the Kingdom tested our patience again, with 1,000 seeds this time, and no change
11:09to the final reward.
11:18The Figurine Gallery The Legend of Zelda The Minish Cap
11:30If we listen very carefully, we can hear anyone who played through this quest letting out
11:35a long, tired sigh.
11:37Like Wind Waker, The Minish Cap features a figurine collecting side quest, but it is
11:42far less fun.
11:43Ahead of the interactivity of taking pictures, Link must spend mysterious shells on a gacha
11:49machine.
11:50Naturally, as you continue to collect, the likelihood of getting something new constantly
11:55decreases, forcing you to fork over more shells, which then forces you to grind for more shells
12:01as you progress through the game.
12:09The figurines are charming, but nothing about this process is particularly enjoyable, and
12:14with 136 of them to earn, it'll take a lot of time and patience.
12:20Your efforts get you a piece of heart, a ton of rupees, and access to a phonograph that
12:24lets you listen to the game's music.
12:26But it is only for the most dedicated of players.
12:40What lengthy Zelda side quest were you glad to finally put to rest?
