Detectives in Queensland have launched a domestic violence homicide investigation after three people were killed in a car crash on the state's Sunshine Coast. The sole survivor is in hospital and under police guard. It's alleged the car he was in was stolen in Gympie yesterday.

00:10 Police say the white Isuzu was chasing a Nissan Navara and then started ramming it from behind.
00:16 That Nissan Navara has then travelled into the southbound lanes of the Bruce Highway
00:20 and collided with that Great Wall motor vehicle.
00:22 A 25-year-old woman and a 65-year-old man in the Nissan were killed and the 38-year-old
00:28 woman they slammed into also died at the scene.
00:32 We also attended a 25-year-old male patient with serious injuries.
00:37 Police say he is known to them and also to the young woman in the car being pursued.
00:42 The white car which was involved in the crash was allegedly stolen at knife point from a
00:47 mum and her three children in Gympie late Thursday.
00:51 We're still speaking to witnesses from that robbery from yesterday so once we've pieced
00:55 that together we'll then make a determination and establish linkages between that person
00:59 who was located there this morning and the robbery from yesterday.
01:02 The Bruce Highway was closed for several hours as authorities investigated what caused this
01:07 horrific crash and cleaned up the wreckage spread across two lanes.
