00:00 We've got a lot to get to, but can we bring in Heather Mills right here for a second?
00:03 Heather is in New York. Good to see you.
00:06 Nice to see you.
00:08 You look beautiful.
00:09 Thank you. I've been really sorry for the kids because I'm freezing.
00:12 Yeah, it's a little cold out here.
00:13 Heather is no stranger to headlines, but she's making headlines now for an amazing thing.
00:17 She's donated a million dollars worth of vegan foods to a charity organization here in the Bronx,
00:24 which is wonderful. Tell me a little bit about that.
00:26 Well, these great kids I've been working with for a while and they're all amazing.
00:32 And I work with the Hunter Point Alliance for Children,
00:35 and they want to educate, support and inspire. And a very important part, as we know,
00:38 and you guys have been talking about a lot this week, is nutrition.
00:41 So I'm trying to help get plant-based foods in.
00:45 So I've funded fruit, vegetables, a lot of meatless meats, which have enough protein,
00:50 the perfect nutrient content. And I've been studying nutrition for a long time now.
00:54 I'm working with Professor Colin Campbell. So just trying to bring awareness because I was quite shocked.
00:59 You know, I've been to New York quite a while and I've moved here for most of the time recently.
01:03 And I couldn't believe there was such poverty, high rates of obesity, diabetes,
01:08 and just like 70 cents for a school meal, which is unbelievable.
01:13 So I thought if I donate, and it seems to start this domino effect that people have pulled together,
01:18 you know, the local, it's the biggest food distribution capital in the whole of New York.
01:23 They put 2.3 billion of fruit and veg out, but none of it seems to get into that area.
01:27 But now, because I've created this, there seems to be a lot of people come together.
01:31 And I'm looking into possibly building a factory there that will bring work
01:36 and create more jobs for health and food and education.
01:38 And so are you going to help them cook as well?
01:40 Yeah, I'm cooking tomorrow. We've already cooked for 1,500 and they were queuing down the street.
01:45 And I couldn't believe they're coming up saying, "Can we have the ends of the tomatoes?"
01:48 and putting them in their pockets. The poverty areas, it's incredible.
01:52 So we're just trying to do the best that we can.
01:54 Well, it's good. And we know you've been cooking.
01:56 We know things have been a little bumpy, gone through the divorce.
01:59 As you said, you're talking about living here. How's life been?
02:02 Life's good. Life's good. I'm over with my daughter.
02:05 She's become best buddies with one of the Hunts Point girls, Jalene, that met me on the cooking.
02:10 And she's had a sleepover already. It's like, you know, we're really making a lot of friends here.
02:15 And I love New York. And as you know, I've always loved America.
02:18 So we're having a great time.
02:19 You seem emotionally in a much better place than the last time we had you on.
02:22 Oh, yeah.
02:23 That was a little bit, that was kind of a tough time.
02:25 It was a very difficult time for everybody involved.
02:28 And most importantly, was trying to protect our daughter.
02:31 And she seems to have come through incredibly well.
02:35 But, you know, everybody I know that's been through a divorce finds it really, really difficult.
02:39 I don't know anyone that didn't go through a hard time.
02:41 We just, unfortunately, went through it publicly.
02:43 But things are good. We're really good.
02:45 I hope your daughter likes snow, because we're getting it here tomorrow.
02:47 Good. There was a little bit yesterday and she's gone, "Mommy, look at the snow everywhere."
02:51 Well, make sure you guys sled for this weekend. You're heading to Central Park.
02:54 Yeah, great.
02:55 Good to see you.
02:56 Really good to see you.
02:57 Take care.
02:58 Wave everybody. Hi. Thank you.
03:00 On to Point Alliance.
