00:05 Excited to bring you a new Easy Bake Oven.
00:08 You probably thought, "Nah, they're done with those."
00:10 But we are not.
00:11 Remember I'm still missing that 1970s oven.
00:13 I have not found it yet.
00:15 And if you don't want to hear me go through this whole talk right now, then look in the
00:18 description you will see a link to different time stamps so you can go right to the baking
00:23 or whatever you want to see.
00:25 But for those of you that want to hear, then stick with me here.
00:28 Because this oven itself, we've done before, but not the Disney Princess Edition.
00:33 There's two or three branded ovens that we have to show you.
00:38 But we didn't put them in the original series because we were kind of waiting for some special
00:42 stuff to add with them.
00:44 And we finally got it for this oven.
00:46 So that's what I'm going to do.
00:47 Let me turn the box around.
00:48 I'm not going to tell you what it is.
00:49 It's a surprise.
00:52 Let's see.
00:53 So right here, this one does have the warming tray on the top.
00:56 But if you look at the picture here, this oven doesn't have any Disney Princess on it.
01:00 So I'm not sure exactly where and what the oven will have on it that says Disney Princess.
01:07 Now the other side of the oven, I'll show it to you again here without any branding
01:13 of any sort on there.
01:14 See, no Disney Princess on the oven.
01:16 So I'm not really sure.
01:17 But look at all the cool things like all the easy bakes you can bake in the oven.
01:20 But I've got a very special set which I'll show you after we take a look at the oven.
01:25 So let's do that next.
01:26 All right, I am back.
01:27 But it's not the front of the oven.
01:28 You'll see it.
01:29 It's really cool the way they did it.
01:31 I'm going to show you the back of the oven.
01:32 Why not?
01:33 This is what I have to go through usually pretty much every oven I get.
01:37 The first thing I do is I take the back off.
01:39 Even if there is a light bulb in there, I need to see what it is and make sure I have
01:44 the right bulb.
01:45 And then sometimes you find things in the ovens.
01:47 I've found change and little utensils and pieces of old baked products.
01:56 So it's all part of getting the oven ready.
01:58 I think this video is going to be a lot more than you bargained for today.
02:03 Because I still have to clean this oven.
02:05 And I want to do that for you too.
02:06 I'll show you what I do there.
02:07 All right, so now the back of the oven is open.
02:11 There's not much to the inside of an easy bake oven really.
02:15 This is held in by two screws and then a couple screws for this piece and that's it.
02:21 So here's what this looks like.
02:24 So right now there is a 100 watt bulb in there.
02:26 So more than likely, I'm going to test it for you right now.
02:30 Be prepared.
02:31 It's going to be bright.
02:33 Not sure if you'll see it.
02:35 Oh yes you will.
02:37 Look how bright that is.
02:38 And it's going to give off heat.
02:40 So it's a good bulb.
02:42 Now normally, they don't have the right bulb in there so I would switch it out.
02:47 I found these the other day.
02:49 They're actual oven bulbs for your Hasbro easy bake oven.
02:54 Let's see, was there a year on it?
02:58 No year that I see.
02:59 Let's take a look at one.
03:02 So it looks very much like the bulb that's in there now.
03:05 Except this one's more of a white, soft white.
03:09 Now normally you don't use a soft white bulb even though it's 100 watts.
03:14 So that's coming out.
03:15 So I'll put in one of these new bulbs.
03:20 Okay, let's plug that one in.
03:23 We'll test it.
03:26 Okay, very nice.
03:30 So now we know the bulb is good.
03:31 The inside of the oven looks clean.
03:34 So we're good there.
03:35 There's no extra debris or anything we need to worry about.
03:39 And I'll put this back on now.
03:41 And what I'll do when I come back, I'll show you the front.
03:46 I'm just going to tighten up all the screws and I'll be right back.
03:51 All right, so the next step after I do the bulb on an oven like this is I always wipe
03:54 it down and clean it.
03:57 There's little black scuff marks on it and this one has some stuff on it.
04:01 So sometimes I use this, Greenworks, and I'll just spray it on a towel and then give the
04:09 whole thing a nice cleaning.
04:11 And this happens with every single oven, usually inside and out if it needs it on the inside.
04:16 Any parts need to be cleaned.
04:21 So let's see if that black, I don't know if you can see that black scuff mark.
04:26 Okay, so that does not want to come off.
04:30 Oh, there it goes.
04:32 Okay, so it's in the plastic just a little.
04:35 There's some white stuff here.
04:38 So normally I would not spray right onto the decal because that will affect it.
04:43 I'll spray the rag and then just give this a wipe down.
04:51 And I'll do the whole oven.
04:52 Oh, it says I'm a little princess on this side.
04:57 Same on this side.
05:05 All right, so we're almost set.
05:07 Now, all the pieces for every oven we've ever done, we put in a bag and have them ready.
05:14 So I can just take them out.
05:17 These are very clean.
05:19 But I will clean them again before I start the video.
05:23 So this is what normally would come with the oven.
05:25 So what I would do is I would just set it up for you.
05:39 And then also the instruction book, which I've got to get.
05:44 All right, so I've got that.
05:45 And then this is kind of like how I would start the video.
05:50 Sometimes I lay the stuff out like that.
05:54 And then right there is when I come back after it's all been cleaned, the bulb's been checked.
06:01 And I start like this.
06:02 All right, so we are back.
06:04 Everything in the oven has been cleaned and prepped and ready to show you in the video.
06:09 So this is what it looks like.
06:10 And this is how I would continue through the process of the video.
06:14 So that's where I'm at right now.
06:16 So this is all the stuff that came with this oven.
06:18 The two baking pans, which we don't need right now, and then our two utensils and your pan
06:25 pusher.
06:26 And all these pan pushers have an arrow for the distance on where it's supposed to stop
06:31 to get it into the oven part.
06:32 And of course, the instruction booklet.
06:36 But let's take a closer look at the oven.
06:39 This one has the warming tray on top with two warming dishes.
06:44 And as I pointed out earlier, you see I'm a little princess here, and then I'm a little
06:49 princess here.
06:51 And then look at the front.
06:53 So you'll have your Disney princesses on the front, which is pretty nice compared to what
06:57 you saw in the front of the box.
07:00 It's nice.
07:01 So let me plug it in.
07:06 And it's on.
07:07 See?
07:08 Working great.
07:09 So now what I need to do next is show you the mix.
07:11 And I'm pretty excited about that because it ties right into this Disney princess oven.
07:15 So we'll do that next.
07:16 All right, well there it is.
07:17 This is what I was so excited about.
07:19 Finally, to get this set that matches perfectly with our Disney princess oven.
07:23 It is the decorating wand set.
07:26 And it comes with this special wand.
07:29 Watch.
07:30 That lights up and makes sounds.
07:32 And then the two fairies and their dresses are filled with sprinkles just like the wand.
07:37 There's the spatula and a special cake pan that makes a star shape.
07:41 So that's what I'm going to actually make today, a star shaped cake.
07:45 And then here's just some more information and everything that comes in the box.
07:49 What I need to do now is actually just take this set out.
07:52 Let's take a look at it and we'll get started.
07:54 Okay, so here's everything that comes in the wand set.
07:56 So you get the spatula.
07:57 Look at it.
07:58 It's got stars on the handle.
08:00 Nicely designed there.
08:01 You get the pan, which is a star shaped.
08:05 And then the mixes and the sprinkles.
08:07 So we'll need all that in a minute.
08:09 Let's take a look at the two fairies that you get.
08:12 Now their bottoms have a little dial on them where you can turn that you're actually going
08:17 to turn to sprinkle or fill.
08:20 See that?
08:21 And you can also take the backs off.
08:23 Okay, and then take out the little cardboard insert.
08:27 I'm going to keep that.
08:28 So I kind of have to wash everything and get it ready.
08:31 I haven't done that yet.
08:32 So let's take this one out.
08:35 Okay, and the wand is also neat that it comes in two sections.
08:41 So those can be washed and then this one slides off the back.
08:46 Okay, so this is what the wand looks like from the front.
08:50 And then the back comes off because this is your storage for your sprinkles.
08:55 You turn this and then you can get into this here.
08:58 Wash that out.
08:59 Put your sprinkles in there and you are good to go.
09:01 There's also a dial here, okay, that you control to adjust how the sprinkles come out or fill.
09:08 And it just slides right back in.
09:11 Pretty cool set.
09:12 And it goes perfectly with our oven.
09:14 So now when I come back we're going to start making the cake.
09:17 All right, I said this would be a special video.
09:20 It's because this is a step of the process that you never actually see.
09:24 But a lot of people wonder, do you even wash everything?
09:26 Yes, every time I make a video all the parts go through this process.
09:31 Now some of the parts that I showed you earlier I don't need so I'm not going to wash them
09:36 like the bins and stuff.
09:38 But I'll need this pan.
09:39 And I always like to use the soft side of the sponge because even on these Easy Bake
09:44 pans they will scratch.
09:46 And I just go part by part cleaning them.
09:51 Super hot water.
09:53 Now they're not really technically dirty because they've been stored in nice plastic cases.
10:04 But you know, a quick little soapy bath never hurt.
10:12 That's really it.
10:13 So now that you've seen that for the first time, it's time now to actually start making
10:23 the mix.
10:24 So let's do that next.
10:25 All right, everything is washed and ready.
10:27 And step one of course is to get the pan ready.
10:30 What I do is I just take a little lump of butter.
10:32 I don't like using the sprays all the time.
10:35 I just like using real butter.
10:37 Make sure you get in all the little crevices there and the sides so your cake doesn't stick
10:41 to the sides either.
10:44 That's a neat pan.
10:46 Okay, so that's set.
10:49 And then you're going to put your cake mix in your bowl.
10:52 And it says crush it up.
10:54 You don't get all the lumps out.
10:56 It's a yellow cake mix.
11:02 Now I was looking at the picture in the recipe booklet and they only show a one layer cake.
11:07 Not a two layer cake like on the box.
11:10 All right, so let's break this up.
11:14 And then it says add one and a half teaspoons of water to and stir to form batter.
11:20 Okay, form batter.
11:21 Yeah, form batter.
11:22 I would say that's pretty good.
11:33 Not that many big lumps in there.
11:37 Okay, let's see, one teaspoon and a half a teaspoon.
11:51 There we go.
11:56 That's pretty easy, huh?
12:01 And I'm using the spatula they gave with the set just so that I can, you know, use my tools.
12:08 Sometimes I'll use wood spoons or other tools that I have, but I figure why not use this
12:11 one?
12:15 I only say that because some people say that's not for mixing.
12:18 Well, it is today.
12:24 All right, pour them, okay, pour them, spread it, okay, in the pan, spread it evenly and
12:39 then put in the oven.
12:41 It says bake for 12 minutes.
12:42 So let me get this in the pan now.
12:46 Looks pretty good, huh?
12:50 Some little lumps in there, but you know, can't avoid it now.
12:52 There we go.
13:06 Let me scrape this out here, do it over here.
13:13 I think we got it pretty good.
13:17 Oh, wait, before I put it in the oven, I better give it its magical vibe.
13:26 Make a beautiful cake, make a beautiful cake.
13:30 All right, so when I come back, we'll put that in the oven.
13:33 I'll probably just tap it down a little bit.

13:37 All right, I am all set.
13:38 Now it goes in the oven.
13:39 Now, remember, you just go up to the line there.
13:44 You'll hear the door drop down like that and we are good to go.
13:48 So I'll set my timer and we'll come back when it's done.
13:51 All right, well, I thought while that was baking, it's really hard to see in there in
13:55 these particular ovens.
13:56 I would get my sprinklers ready, the two fairies and the wand.
14:00 So let me do the, well, let me do the fairies first because they only give you two colors
14:05 for this.
14:06 So let's do this one here with the pink.
14:11 So remember, you just open this, okay, and then let me see, pink crystals.
14:16 I'll do it over this little bowl here.
14:20 And it just says basically to pour some in the one half and then close it back up.
14:26 So here we go.
14:27 Ooh, let's do it this way so you can see it better.
14:32 We'll put them all in just some.
14:36 You know, they also say that because you have two size holes here on the bottom, there's
14:43 a big sprinkle.
14:44 So if you want to put a different kind of sprinkle in these, you can.
14:47 And if you have a little type of powder, you can use that too.
14:50 So let me set it so that nothing comes out.
14:52 There's my first one.
14:54 Now let's get this one in here.
14:57 We'll put purple in her.
15:02 I think for the wand, I'll just put all the extra stuff inside.
15:06 All right, so purple sugar crystals.
15:18 I guess you can put as much as you want in there.
15:19 I'm just kind of regulating it so I have enough for my wand.
15:24 Okay.
15:25 That's better.
15:27 Okay.
15:28 So that one's set.
15:32 Ooh, look at that.
15:36 So now I'll set this to make sure nothing comes out.
15:39 She's ready.
15:40 Now we'll do the back of the wand.
15:43 And I'm just going to put the rest in there.
15:46 This one also has different size openings.
15:48 Ooh, I'll mix it all up.
15:53 Purple and some pink.
15:56 Look at that.
15:59 Okay, so lock that in there.
16:01 This goes here.
16:02 Twist this on.
16:04 And then you set it to the size.
16:05 Now they're too big for the little holes.
16:08 That'd probably be for sugar.
16:09 So I'm going to set that to the big one here and see as I practice my sprinkling.
16:15 Here we go.
16:16 Ooh, that's going to work good.
16:22 All right, so soon enough the cake will be out of the oven and we'll check it out.
16:26 All right, all set to come out of the oven.
16:28 Let's push it through here so you can see it.
16:33 I say we give it one more little sprinkle from our wand.
16:36 All right, just to make sure everything came out great.
16:40 Let's take a look.
16:44 So there you go.
16:45 Actually, it looks like it came out nice.
16:46 It's brown around the edges.
16:47 So what I'll do is I'll come back and make the frosting while this cools down.
16:52 All right, it is frosting time.
16:54 And I don't think I'm going to actually layer this cake because it is so thin.
16:59 I don't think it's -- I think what they really wanted you to do is have a second mix or make
17:03 a second cake and then it'd be a lot easier to layer.
17:06 Let's get the frosting ready.
17:08 And it's really just putting in -- ooh, look at that.
17:12 It's so white.
17:13 It's a white frosting and one -- ooh, let me see -- half a teaspoon of water.
17:20 There we go.
17:24 Let me just make a quick change here.
17:27 And it says if you do want a thinner frosting, you can add more water.
17:35 So let's just see how this turned out.
17:38 There's always like a turning point with the frosting when it really just changes.
17:46 All right.
17:56 I think I'm going to put a few more drops in just because it's nice, but I think I want
18:01 it a little bit softer.
18:02 Look at it.
18:03 What do you think?
18:04 Just a little bit.
18:05 Now that drops.
18:08 Okay.
18:10 All right, my frosting is ready.
18:16 So I'm going to be right back and we'll get the cake out and we'll start decorating.

18:25 All right, almost set, but I think one more dusting here before we do the decorating because
18:30 you know that's what I struggle with the most.
18:32 There, a triple dose.
18:35 Let's get this out of the pan now and hopefully it comes right out.
18:39 So I will just go along the edges and kind of, you know, test and give it a little push
18:48 as I move around the edge, but I want to break up all the cooked bits here.
18:54 It's a little darker on the edge.
18:57 You know, at some point you'll just feel it.
19:03 It's just wants to release itself from the pan.
19:06 Okay.
19:08 And this is not the point.
19:09 Just keep going around.
19:11 It's hard to take your time too, but you really have to take your time.
19:18 See that?
19:19 That's kind of slowly working and hopefully it's not a big lump stuck at the bottom, but
19:24 we'll see.
19:25 There we go.
19:26 It has come out and it looks pretty good.
19:28 Let's look at the bottom.
19:30 Nice and golden brown.
19:31 Okay.
19:32 Let's get that out of there.
19:35 All right, decorating now.
19:36 So the frosting, I'm just going to lump it on and spread it around.
19:44 I was thinking originally it'd be a two layer, like they give you two cake mixes, but there's
19:48 no way to really cut this and make it worthy of two layers.
19:53 And the moment we've all been waiting for is the sprinkles.
19:56 And this is how they show it on the cover, kind of edged a little in the shape of the
20:06 star.
20:07 There you go.
20:09 All right.
20:11 So it's sprinkle time.
20:12 Here we go.
20:13 And it's still frosting.
20:14 So what do I want to do first?
20:15 Well, let me try one of my little fairies here.
20:19 I'm going to go just a little bit so it's not open all the way.
20:24 So just a little bit comes out.
20:26 Here we go.
20:27 Okay.
20:28 You'll do half with her.
20:30 Those are cool.
20:34 And then we'll do half in pink.
20:35 So I'm just setting the dial to about there.
20:39 So just a little comes out.
20:42 Sprinkle with a little fairy sparkle dust.
20:44 How's that looking?
20:46 And I have to do the big one just once.

20:50 We'll set it partial right there.
