Let's Bake - Stampy Cat Cake!

00:00 Hi guys, today we're gonna make a cake that's gonna look like this if you can't tell this look
00:06 Well, maybe you can't but it's a stampy cat face
00:09 I'm making a cake for my niece for her birthday and this is what she loves so we make her this
00:15 So we're gonna start with a bunch of pieces
00:17 That are in squares and we're gonna take them and cut off the top. I'm using just a basic red velvet box cake
00:25 She said she loved red velvet. So
00:28 That's what we're gonna use and I'm just gonna basically take and cut off the top. I know you can't see it here
00:33 unfortunately, and I
00:35 Have a couple that are done and then the rest are all gonna get their tops cut off
00:40 like so
00:42 You can see it and then we're going to put them onto a
00:45 Piece of cardboard wrapped in wax paper for now. So I have something easier to move them on
00:51 Yeah, that's
00:57 How we're gonna do that I'm gonna put that on there just set that off to the side and then keep going at it
01:01 Wait, so now that we have all the first layer cut and laid down on our sheet
01:25 I just added a platform under it so that it would be a little more sturdier. It's the cake carrier
01:29 But now we're going to lay down a layer of frosting and I have a nice piping bag there just to make it a lot easier
01:35 Since they are in there are a bunch of little pieces

01:44 All right. Now we're just gonna take the rest of the
01:46 The top layer and we are going to cut it off here
01:51 I'm just moving to I was gonna make like little pouch like puffs for his cheeks
01:56 But I decided not to so if you see those later on just ignore it. It's not gonna happen
02:01 I did decide to make this cake
02:04 Minecraft style, you know, you take blocks in Minecraft and build them and I thought it would be really neat to
02:12 Make a stampy cat cake out of in the Minecraft
02:17 Styling so here. I'm just once again fuddling with those on
02:21 Pouches that I was like little puffs on a cat face
02:24 But then I later I decided it just be better if I would leave it flat in true Minecraft

02:36 Because it's all square and flat in Minecraft
02:40 All right, so one see and I was gonna do that so I could layer it but once again not happen
02:47 So now we're just gonna take more white frosting and put on our base coat our
02:52 Crumb coat is what that is called
02:54 just to make everything stick together and make it uniform otherwise the
02:59 Frosting that I use for color colors won't
03:02 Work so hot
03:05 Alright, and once we are all done
03:07 Frosting this or floating on some frosting
03:10 I just want to smooth it out cover everything up and we're gonna throw that in the freezer and let it harden
03:16 So I've made a grid here
03:18 You can't see the lines very well, but I can obviously I'm doing it
03:22 And we're just going to do it's an 8 by 8 grid
03:26 I wanted it to be an 8 by 8 grid, but it turned out to be a 9 by 8 grid
03:30 I don't necessarily know how that happened, but four little dots like this go in each
03:34 square which is one of the little pixels of a picture I used which you can kind of see the picture on the other side of
03:42 the
03:44 Cake there, so I just every square gets four little dots, and they're really simple
03:50 one two three four five
03:54 One two three four five like the six different colors for this cake. It's really nice and simple
03:59 Yeah, so once we do that we're going to be done like this is a nice and quick easy cake

06:20 Just had to throw it back in the fridge for a little bit.
06:21 My hands are making it very warm.
06:24 I know it's not perfect, but it turned out quite well.
