00:00 Hello beauties! There's nothing more sensual and sultry in makeup than a soft purple smokey
00:07 eye, and the exclusive Alphadahlia palette by Jason Wu for Lancôme has the perfect combination
00:14 of colors to create this seductive look. I love it, so let me show you how to get it.
00:20 I'm starting with Lancôme La Basse Aquatique in Nude and priming the lid using brush #8.
00:25 This will help your eyeshadow last all night. Pat the base all over the lid, lower lash
00:30 line and outer corner and then blend it out with your finger.
00:34 I'm dipping brush #16 into the center purple shade and I'm drawing an extended wing following
00:39 my lash line. Then I'm filling it in and dragging the color inwards to define my outer crease.
00:45 I'm slowly tracing my natural crease or the fold of the lid to add more dimension. To
00:51 get the illusion of a larger lid, you may want to outline the eye socket or just above
00:54 the crease. I'm shading the outer lower lash line and
00:58 redefining that outer wing using the pointed tip of the brush. A well-defined crease is
01:03 an important part of this look and helps to visually enlarge the eyes. The shape should
01:08 resemble a leaf or a petal. Next I'm taking a clean blending brush #17
01:13 and I'm softening the edges of that crease using windshield wiper motions to get a more
01:18 professional blended finish. As you can see, I've removed some of the purple color, so
01:22 you're going to want to go back with the pointed #16 brush to add more color intensity and
01:27 blend it out once more. This step takes a bit of practice and patience, but trust me
01:32 it's worth it and it makes all the difference. Next, dip the #12 flat precision brush into
01:37 the pale pink shade and apply the shadow onto the inner half of the lid using patting motions.
01:42 A lighter shade on the lid makes it stand out against the purple and makes the eyes
01:46 look so pretty and bright. Using a larger #11 brush, add the shimmery
01:51 plum shade to the outer half of the lid. This shade is so pretty and luminous when it catches
01:55 the light. For a softer transition, layer the pale pink onto the center of the lid where
02:00 the two shadows meet, like I'm doing here. For the highlight, add the pearlescent shade
02:05 with brush #23 and clean up the brow bone. For the black liner, I'm using Lancome Art
02:11 Liner 24H and creating a subtle cat eye. Extend the wing first, then drag the color in and
02:17 finish by perfecting the line using short strokes. The fine tip of this liner makes
02:23 it really easy to get as close as possible to the lashes, which is key in sultry makeup
02:27 looks. I purposely left a little room for the lower
02:32 liner when drawing my cat eye. I'm using Lancome Lostillo Waterproof in Noir to fill in the
02:37 corner and smudge it using the sponge tip. Use the black glittery shadow on brush #24
02:44 to seal and smudge the lower liner some more. Next, curl the lashes using the curler and
02:51 add a coat or two of mascara to both the top and bottom lashes.
02:57 And here's the final look with some falsies! Now it's time to complete the look with some
03:03 date worthy blush. I'm using Lancome Ménage a Trois in Flushed, and I'm adding the blush
03:08 and highlight with brush #6. To balance this bold eye look, I'm going for a pinky nude
03:13 lip look with Rich Cashmere lipstick and Pink Posh gloss on top.
03:17 That's it! The look is complete, and I encourage you to try it! Feel free to add to it or jazz
03:22 it up to your liking. Remember, makeup is all about fun, so go ahead and enjoy it!
