Short-lived project formed in California. Charles Larkey, bassist for The Myddle Class, became Carole King's second husband after her marriage to Gerry Goffin ended. King and Larkey moved to the West Coast in 1968 and formed The City in 1968, a musical trio that also included New York musician Danny Kortchmar. The City recorded one album, Now That Everything's Been Said, but never went on tour due to Carole's stage fright. As a result, the album was a commercial failure, although it contained songs that would later become famous, performed by "The Byrds" ("I Wasn't Born To Follow") and "Blood, Sweat & Tears" ("Hi-De-Ho ").
