Lights not working

The Xbox 360 has problems and the lights not working right? You mean to tell me that the lights don't work AT ALL on some consoles? It's not even a power issue, because some people are getting power. Sometimes the lights aren't working whatsoever but the Xbox 360 is powering on. What's up with that?
It isn't the red ring of death, overheating issues etc. I didn't think Xbox 360s did something like that, but it doesn't surprise me in the least bit. I mean, as always, the guides to fix it yourself on the net are getting big because Microsoft ignores stuff like this.
What happens when you get no lights whatsoever, is it still playable? If it isn't the RROD or any other thing, then it must be some weird error. Especially if the console is still playable and isn't a power issue.
