On Day 3 of President Aquino's visit to typhoon-hit Visayas, the Chief Executive inspected Basey in Samar, one of the hardest hit by super typhoon "Yolanda." Aquino checked the municipal hall and health office, and distributed relief goods to typhoon survivors. He was accompanied by Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas, Social Welfare and Development Secretary Dinky Soliman, and Public Works and Highways Secretary Rogelio Singson. The President also visited Ormoc in Leyte which also bore the brunt of the storm. On Monday, Aquino was in Palo, Leyte to check on relief and rehabilitation operations. Aquino is staying in the Visayas indefinitely until he is satisfied with efforts to help typhoon survivors get back on their feet, and restore normalcy in the region.
