On My Own
Freedom
Paradox
Diana Chittester stands alone on stage with her arsenal of acoustic guitars. Her solo show is brought to life by her signature percussive multi-part playing, mimicking a full band on a solo acoustic guitar without the help of loopers or other technological tricks, blended with intelligent and articulate lyrics. The personal stories and vulnerability she shares on stage resonate with audiences as she invites them along on her journey. Diana’s energetic solo show provides audiences with the full experience.
Moving to Cleveland after college, Diana got her start at the Winchester Music Hall when asked to open for Michael Jackson's lead guitarist, Jennifer Batten, in 2008. Diana began touring folk venues & festivals in 2012 with the release of her second album, In This Skin. Festivals include the Black Swamp Art & Music Fest, Ann Arbor Street Fair, LaureLive Contemporary Music Fest, Burning River Festival and venues including the House of Blues, Club Cafe, Babeville Ninth Ward, Cain Park, The Music Box Supper Club the Beachland Ballroom, and more. Local, college and independent radio stations that play songs off of Find My Way Home & In This Skin include; WRUW 91.1, The Summit 91.3, WJCU 88.7 and WLKR 95.3 as well as internet radio stations.
In early 2017, Diana toured with Canadian songwriter, Royal Wood through 10 cities in 12 days performing at the most prestigious folk venues such as The Ark, Club Passim, World Cafe Live, Ludlow Garage and more.
Skinny Devil Magazine of Lexington, Kentucky dubbed Diana a “Guitar God” when they invited her to lead a guitar clinic on her signature right hand technique. Diana became internationally recognized when asked to perform at the 'cornerstone of culture' in Barrie, Ontario at the MacLaren Art Centre in 2012.
ArtVoice Magazine in Buffalo, New York called Diana “a complex guitar acrobat” and Music Connections Magazine noted her “intelligent and articulate lyrics” after reviewing her 2012 album, In This Skin. In 2014, Diana successfully raised over $5,000 in a fan-funded effort to head to New Orleans to record her first solo acoustic record, Find My Way Home.
Diana Chittester has shared the stage with many iconic guitarists and songwriters like Colin Hay, LP, Garnet Rogers, Jennifer Batten (Michael Jackson), Michelle Malone, Dan Bern, Kim Simmonds, Kim Richey, The Michael Stanley Band, Donnie Iris, Melissa Ferrick, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes and more.
