Las Vegas born singer and songwriter Sabriel began her creative career at an early age as a dancer, which led her to the nationally acclaimed Las Vegas Academy for performing arts. From that point on, the transition from movement to music came easily as she grew to love connecting with others through art.
Since birth, her parent’s love for artists such as Prince, Stevie Wonder, D’angelo and Erykah Badu resonated with her, especially as she began to experiment with writing lyrics and melodies. Musical influences from the past mixed with a craving for discovering artists that would send her on emotional journeys helped her find her own voice.
In 2011, at age 16, the decision to solely go forward with music was made. With a little help from her friends, she co-wrote and recorded her first EP. Following that, she found herself in the heart of Downtown Las Vegas in the middle of its rebirth, singing at local coffee shops, bars and the world famous breakfast joint, Eat. The local community embraced her, leading to 2 consecutive spots at Life Is Beautiful Festival with acts including Kanye West, Outkast and The Roots. Her set continuously drew hundreds, swelling as the set went on to thousands. As her career progressed, she found herself opening for artists such as Sheryl Crow and Mayor Hawthorne and traveling to Austin to perform during SXSW. In 2015, she focused on songwriting, working on projects for television and motion pictures, followed by a year of writing, producing and recording her self-titled, phonetically spelled EP, shä brē el, released in August of 2016. She hopes to not only connect with audiences sonically, but also visually with self-made stage design in her upcoming performances.
