The Mufti government has refused to roll back its controversial decision to levy 12.5 service tax on chopper services to Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, Mufti govt's Finance Minister has now accused the Vaishno Devi Shrine board of fleecing the pilgrims. The minister says that the shrine board charges Rs.300 as landing charges, and it should abolish it to accommodate the government's 12.5 hike, meanwhile. The Congress has termed the tax as Jaziya, saying that it will oppose the move by the BJP-PDP government in J&K and will organise nationwide protest against it.
