Ingredients:
200 grams Khoa/Mawa, grated
1 tsp Ghee
2 tbsp Rawa (Semolina)
1 ½ tbsp Pistachio flakes
1 ½ tbsp Almond flakes
1 ½ tbsp Raisins
1 tsp Cardamom powder
2 tbsp Desiccated Coconut
¼ tsp Saffron strands (soaked in milk)
5-6 tbsp Powdered Sugar
Oil for frying
For Dough
1 cup Wheat Flour
1 tbsp Plain Flour
1 tbsp Semolina
1 tbsp OIl
Pinch of salt
Method of preparation:
In a pan add mawa and roast it on low heat until the mawa dries out. Take it out on a plate and let it cool down.
In the same pan heat ghee, add rawa and heat it for 2-3 minutes.
Remove it out in a bowl and let it cool down.
Into the bowl containing rawa, add pistachio flakes, almond flakes, raisins, cardamom powder, desiccated coconut, saffron strands, mix well.
Add powdered sugar, mawa and mix well.
Make ½ inch balls of the mixture.
Take small portions of the dough, spread a little oil on the board and rolling pin.
Roll the dough, place the mawa stuffing in the centre and bring all the sides together.
Heat oil in a vessel and deep fry the modaks on low heat until they are golden brown in color.
Our Fried Mawa Modak is ready.
