New York City Mice Found to Have Antibiotic Resistant Genes The study published in the journal mBio looked at gut samples from some 416 mice mostly taken from New York City residential buildings. Researchers found that six of the mice carried genes for antibiotic resistance, meaning antibacterial drugs would be ineffective in treatment.
