"Smart Luggage" Bans Coming In 2018

According to an article by Business Insider, several airlines have announced plans to ban so-called "smart luggage," beginning in January of 2018. American Airlines, Alaska Airlines and Delta have already declared that bags with features such as USB ports, motors and tracking systems will not be allowed, as the companies have concerns over the lithium ion batteries the bags carry, which could spark fires in overhead compartments or cargo holds.
