Sevai Upma is a delicious, homemade, quick and easy to make breakfast recipe where crispy vermicelli are cooked in urad dal, curry leaves, green chilli and mild spices.
Ingredients:
3 tbsp Ghee
1 tsp Urad Dal
1 tsp Chana Dal
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
2-3 Green Chillies
8-10 Curry Leaves
3 Onions, chopped
2 tsp Sugar
1 tsp Ginger paste
2 Cups Vermicelli
Salt to taste
Coriander Leaves
Water
Method:
- In a pan heat some ghee.
- Add urad dal and chana dal. Roast them golden brown.
- Then add mustard seeds, green chillies and curry leaves. Let them splutter.
- Add chopped onions, ginger paste and sugar. Mix everything well.
- Add vermicelli and mix well.
- Add water enough for the vermicelli to cook.
- Add salt and give a stir.
- Cover it with a lid and let the upma cook for 5-7 minutes.
- When the vermicelli is cooked our upma is ready.
- Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve.
