BASF has been present in Flanders since 1964 and boasts a decades-spanning track record of investing in Antwerp, where the chemical company has its 2 nd -biggest integrated chemical production center worldwide. What’s more, BASF continues to funnel an average of EUR 150 million per year into the site – fortifying Antwerp’s position as Europe’s largest petrochemical cluster as well as Flanders’ chemical industry as a whole.

In 2015, to give a recent example, BASF channeled EUR 500 million into a new production technology for superabsorbent polymers in Antwerp.
