Mercosur representatives met in Bolivia to further regional integration and finalize agreements in progress that will soon be evaluated at a full meeting in Uruguay. Items on the agenda were the re-population of livestock and the 3,000 km Paraguay-Parana inland waterway that cuts through half of South America and could become an important shipping route for exports and give Bolivia access to the Atlantic Ocean. Mercosur is a sub-regional trade bloc composed of Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela. Bolivia only lacks approval from Paraguay to become a full member. teleSUR
