NASA has recently released an image of the first noctilucent clouds of 2015 with their signature blue color; they were spotted over the Arctic in late May.
Noctilucent clouds are the highest ones that exist, forming at a distance of more than 50 miles into the sky.

They were seen over the Arctic Circle on May 19th and have since made their way to an area above the U.K. where several photos of the distinct, blue formations were posted to social media.
