THE KING'S SPEECH

This video first appeared on the "Top Hat And Buttered Popcorn" program that aired bimonthly on the Fairfax County (VA) cable television station, Channel 10. It was hosted by John Savers. This movie is about the unexpected ascension to the throne of Great Britain of George VI - a man who battled severe stammering. His attempt to conquer this problem led him into the orb of a doctor, played by Geoffrey Rush, who had a reputation for attacking this problem successfully by unorthodox methods. The events take place just prior to WW2.
