00:00Hello hi and welcome to Red Bandana Subway number 2. Now this is the top staircase, not the top of the staircase, but it is the top of the staircase.
00:11It's the top platform and the top half of the staircase, that's what it is. Now all my geometry is all basically 3D.
00:19I'm making all my content so I can stick it inside Unreal Engine temporarily.
00:24As I said I've got a little gap in between the concrete, so in between the slabs.
00:31Just to make it a little bit more nicer.
00:37Of course you can drop the slab down if you want to, if you want to make a little curb.
00:42I mean I don't need a curb, I don't need to put a curb on it.
00:45If I do, I'll basically go into the geometry mode, select whichever curb I want, and basically just drag it down so it kind of slips.
00:55Anyway, it's kind of easy to do that. So all the geometry is in my geometry, so anything that you want me to do to the geometry, you'll probably find that the thing that you want to do is already built into the floor.
01:07Now this part over here, you might think is made a little bit incorrectly.
01:12Now if you look over here, you'll notice I've got a little bit of a step right here.
01:17You can't really see, but if you look around you'll see I've got a little step.
01:22Now I know it's kind of a bit unusual, but yeah, it's true in the world.
01:27So I think you should go through a couple of slabs and step down onto that concrete.
01:30This is a slab of concrete by the way.
01:32Well, it started life as a slab of concrete, but now it's not.
01:36So I'm going to have this part here kind of cut off.
01:41So here I'm going to have a plank pot that goes in this gap, and I'm going to have one that goes in this gap.
01:47And then I'm going to have a couple of plank pots around the back of here.
01:51And in between the gaps, in between these two slabs, in between these two slabs, and between these two slabs, there's going to be a bit of grass.
01:59I want to get grass in the world, just so everything is not made of concrete.
02:03And do you say, well, how come you've got slabs in the world in the first place?
02:07Well, this is what it is. In my game world, I've got all hidden gems.
02:13Now, I'm not going to tell you which slabs in the world have secret gems underneath them.
02:19Some slabs, you can basically take the slab away, and you can find the secret gems, you can find the secrets.
02:28It's not just gems, there's all sorts of things in there.
02:31There's special items, if you find them, absolutely great.
02:35So as I said, my entire game world is all about the shadows.
02:39So if you're in the game world, and you look at the shadows, thinking, oh, these shadows are pointing over here.
02:43Maybe I have to go in this direction, probably.
02:46Or watch the shadows.
02:48This would be the time of day in my game world.
02:51And you can notice how the lights kind of flick around like this.
02:56I think it's pretty good how the shadows kind of interact, obviously, with the world.
03:01So of course, if it's 12 o'clock, of course, these are going to be pointing in this direction, depending on where the sun is in the sky.
03:09Of course, we haven't got an actual sky, we've got a lightbulb somewhere over there somewhere.
03:14So if you can't see the lightbulb, put it in here.
03:16So anyway, you get the idea.
03:18So this is the video. If you want it, as I said, I'm just showing you the model.
03:22That's nothing. All that is one colour.
03:25So ignore what that colour shows you.
03:27If I go into here, and I'm going to show you the mesh, show you what's happening.
03:31If you look at the mesh, it's absolutely perfect.
03:34Inside and out.
03:36So if you look around it, now you might think, well, if you don't know about models,
03:41then you might think, well, how do I know if it's back to front?
03:43If it's back to front, it'd be black and grey.
03:46So anything that's kind of dark like that, or kind of black colour,
03:49it's actually inside out.
03:51But it's not inside out, it's kind of really far away.
03:54If I zoom in to look, I can't get too close.
03:57They're actually perfect.
03:59These are two clear globes, that's what they are, in this kind of view.
04:05And the colour of the light inside these globes is that colour there.
04:09You see like the kind of yellowy kind of colour?
04:11A bit like a candlelight, basically, like that.
04:15But there's not too much light going on the world.
04:17I don't want it to look like this.
04:19It's too much light.
04:20So it's going to be dark and dingy.
04:22Something like that.
04:24Something cute, I think, yeah.
04:26So we've got to kind of set the mood for the game world.
04:29So you might think, well, it's not too great.
04:31And in the morning, it goes ding!
04:33And you think, oh, it looks totally different.
04:36Now don't scare me now.
04:38But of course, at night time, when the moonlight starts to shift,
04:44ah, now things are different again.
04:48Obviously, the patterns remain the same look.
04:53Because it's the same cycle.
04:55So anyway, whether you have it night time or day time,
04:59it doesn't matter.
05:00I'm just showing you how it looks in the game world.
05:03This is how the world looks in the game world.
05:05So I'm going to put it into Unreal Engine.
05:07And I'm going to start assembling maybe this part of the world.
05:11But I have made the staircase for here.
05:14I've got a full staircase for underneath that.
05:16Just so you know that.
05:17So it goes down three flights of stairs.
05:20I had to go down three flights of stairs because my character banged their head,
05:24which is age 12, on top of the pillar.
05:28I'm thinking, I can't have that going on.
05:30So I'm thinking I've got to make the stairs a little bit steeper than I wanted.
05:33But it kind of works.
05:35So I'm thinking, yeah, I can live with that.
05:37So anyway, if you want the assets, click the link under this video and download it.
05:42So, of course, go to the website and have a look at it.
05:45And, yeah, I can live with that.
05:47Of course, you might have a different idea for this thing.
05:50As I said, I've put a name on it.
05:52Normally, you would have 3D text on that, which would say Subway 2.
05:56But it's not going to be called Subway 2.
05:59It's going to be called something else.
06:01It could be Ghost Basement, something like that.
06:05So anyway, each station leads to a certain place.
06:09So I think on this side, I'll have the name of the station, the name of the hole, the name of the opening.
06:16And on this side, I'm going to have a map of the actual area.
06:21So if you want to go to the map and have a look at my TV screen,
06:26you'll be able to see, hopefully, if I can do the scripting part of it,
06:30you'll be able to see exactly where you are actually on the TV screen, basically, more or less.
06:37But, yeah, anyway, my map's going to be different than most maps.
06:41If I can get it to where I want it, I want to go.
06:43It's not a 3D map, but I want to kind of...
06:46I keep calling it a GPS map, a bit like that, but except a bit more 3D than that.
06:50So anyway, this is the content. That's for later on.
06:53So these are my standard, basically, top floor assets.
06:57So all my floors, near enough every one of them, will be made like this.
07:02So all my top surface for rent-by-none is going to be all 3D, like this.
07:07And then, of course, all kind of the ones on the floor.
07:10And, of course, this part under here, this part under here,
07:14the reason why I filled it in for, even though it's underground,
07:17once you get down the stairs, you can still see the ceiling.
07:21But I'm saying this is going to be also a big, massive, gigantic room
07:27with a room inside the room, just to confuse you when you go down there.
07:32You're not going to know where to go, what to do,
07:35especially if you've got something hitting you,
07:37because you're going to get lost pretty easy and pretty quick.
07:41So you've got plenty of hiding places to hide.
07:44Be careful where you hide in the game,
07:46because the things in the game are pretty clever.
07:49So, anyway, how do you say?

08:11It's not all glued together, but it is actually all properly connected together.
08:17So it's all separate, but it's all together.
08:19Once you download it, you'll understand what I mean.
