00:00Hello everybody and welcome back. In this part of the video, as I said in the last video,
00:05in this part I will be extruding the slabs. Before I extrude them I need to make a window
00:12frame around each slab. Of course a little bit, only a bit because it's time consuming,
00:17not too much. So what we need to do is start in the corner. Now don't do every single one
00:23because it will try and do everything. You have to kind of do it a bit like a checkerboard,
00:28a bit like this, which is kind of crazy. If you do it this way it works, if you do it any other way
00:36it kind of doesn't work. Well, it doesn't work for me. So as I said, first of all,
00:42go around. If that thing is in the way, come over here, take that and turn it off.
00:46We don't want that one, we don't want that one, we don't want that one. As I said,
00:50make sure you don't pick the wrong ones. This is going to make life a little bit harder for you.
00:56As I said, just go across it. Of course, I should have done this in the very first beginning.
01:04I actually forgot. It's not that I couldn't do it, I can do it, but I actually forgot about it.
01:10So now I have to go back and fix my mistake.
01:14Of course, as I said, the video logs are here to show you how to do certain things.
01:21So just in case you want to do this and you're thinking, okay, how can I go back doing it
01:27without selecting every single one separately? This is how you go about doing it. This is how
01:34I'm doing it, basically. So I know it works, it works fine. So it's entirely up to you
01:41how you go about doing it. I want to make sure I don't go inside that square.
01:51Because that's going to be my grass. It wasn't grass, it was going to be a slab,
01:58but now it's not. I don't really have much grass in the world at the moment.
02:08I'm just kind of looking at where I was for a second. You know what's going to be pretty hard
02:14after I do these ones is to select the opposite ones. It's going to be a little bit kind of tricky.
02:20I think I might kind of get a little bit lost with it. So every now and then you might see me
02:26zoom in and out to the actual floor because I'm going to make sure that I press the right one.
02:32I made a mistake there for a second.
02:50So first of all, I said when I kind of start doing this, you'll understand what I mean.
02:55And then of course I was going to do the slabs.
02:59So this is the first set of slabs and I'm going to do the second set,
03:03which are the ones in between. I'll add some lifted in the air and some on the floor.
03:11But I can't really do that because when you kind of, yeah, I can't do that. Because when you've
03:17got a staircase and you're pretty close to the floor, you're going to be able to see the gap
03:23and the crack in the floor and you're going to be able to see that they're not patched in.
03:30So yeah, I thought I finished. Of course I didn't. I've got this room to do.
03:40So I've got to remember that I've done the corner one, so I've got to do these two,
03:44then I've got to miss, then I've got to miss one, do them three, then miss two, do them three.
03:49So what I want to do here is pick any one, go here, that's this. Zoom in to any one you want,
03:56it doesn't particularly matter. Of course, whatever you do makes you to see yourself.
04:01And you want to make a border, but only a bare fraction like that. As soon as it moves,
04:09as soon as the, as soon as the thing twitches, stop. That's it. Don't do nothing else to that.
04:15Okay, because don't forget, even though you've only moved it one little square, like I said,
04:19yeah, the one little square is a lot. It really is. Now I need to go around the face,
04:27and make sure that I don't click anything other than the opposite faces. So I want these two,
04:34I want to miss that one, go here, miss that one, go here. Now, if I want to do it this way,
04:38I know it's kind of a silly way to do it, but if I don't do it this way, I know I'm going to click
04:42the wrong one. It's going to get a bit tricky when I get into the middle.
04:54So we don't want that one, we want this one.
05:01As soon as I make a mistake, then of course, I've got to come back and redo it. So
05:06as I said, I don't particularly want to make a mistake.
05:09As I said, I'm trying to do the videos as quick and as short as I can, because the more time I
05:14spend on the videos, the less time I'm spending making the game. So yeah, but of course, I have
05:21to do the videos, because if I don't do them, like I said in the last video, if I end up making some
05:26content that may look like someone else's, or might be just some kind of copyrighted thing,
05:31even though I'm not, because I'm making my own. But yeah, so that's what I'm trying to do.
05:39So some things obviously, when it comes to plant pots and watering cans and things like that,
05:48of course, you can make something totally unique and different. But I think, yeah,
05:52well, if it looks like a watering can, I want it to look like a watering can.
05:56So I don't want something that kind of resembles it in some kind of way.
06:03But you know, the ones that are actually made, they're made pretty well, they really are.
06:08I think, you know, obviously, I'm not doing any harm or damage to the thing itself.
06:15So I think it's okay. So if I can do my own content, that's perfect.
06:28I'm really hoping that the ones I'm picking here, I'm hoping they're the right ones, really.
06:33As I said, I've got to allow for the thing itself, for the grass, so I don't want to cover it up.
06:50As I said, obviously, I do try to do the videos, as I said,
06:54realistically, in the best of my ability, and as fast as I possibly can to do it.
07:03Because I don't want to do it too fast, because if I do it too fast, one, I'm going to get lost
07:06myself, and two, you won't really be able to learn what I'm doing. So all I'm doing,
07:11I'm holding the up arrow key, left side of the keyboard, that's all I'm doing.
07:15And I'm left clicking the mouse, that's what I'm doing over here. I want the phases to turn
07:19off when you're here, and I'm pressing this thing in a moment, but not just yet.
07:35As I say, just kind of go across, make sure you don't pick the wrong one, as I said,
07:38because I've already put a phases on the other ones, so hopefully you can get away with that.
07:49Yeah, and then when I can, I'll try to speed things up just a fraction,
07:57just so I don't kind of take a bit too long. But like I said, it's all about trial and error,
08:04and I don't really want to make too many errors. So that's all that made. Now, of course,
08:10we need to go back into this thing, make sure you're on the circle. Go back into the circle
08:15second time. Now look at the squares. Now, don't forget to look at these ones here.
08:21These ones, move it just one square. Now you see I've done that move there for one of the squares.
08:27You can zoom in a bit more for it, just move it once. That's too much. Okay, just press undo.
08:37That's too much again. As I said, you're going to basically just...
08:42That was two. I don't want two, I only want one.
08:48Something like that. Okay, now for the nice, lovely, easy part.
08:55Looks like the same thing. Honestly, truly, it's not. It's different. So what I want to do is go
09:03right around the edge. Now, you want to click all of these, turn my circle off because you'll get
09:11in the way. Don't select it all because you'll select the middle. See the cracks?
09:16You don't want to select the cracks. Leave it as it is.
09:22Don't accidentally click in the crack and then think, oh yeah, I'll just leave it like that.
09:28If you do that, when you extrude it, it's going to pull the cap out of the floor and you have to
09:34go back and fix it. And because it's such a really, really, really tiny gap, you're not going
09:42to really appreciate going back to fix it. As I said, it would be easier if I can just kind of
09:47select the whole thing. Unfortunately, I can't do that. Now, if I'm building my 3D slabs like this,
09:54of course, I don't have to make my slabs like this. I can just use a 2D texture, put it on top
09:59of it, make it look like it's 3D, which is kind of perfectly fine for a render. But I think,
10:07nope, I want actual, proper shadows. I know you can add shadows to the game world. I know you can
10:14do that. But I'm thinking, when you kind of put shadows in, some shadows look absolutely great,
10:21but there's nothing better than a real, proper shadow. So if there's a lamppost or a street
10:26light or whatever it is, I want to use its own reflection in the game world. So whatever the
10:33reflection that you can see is going to be the object that's actually there. My game is all about
10:42shadows, basically. That's what it's about. It's about the light and the shadows. So really,
10:47you want to kind of stay in the light, really. But sometimes, in certain parts of the game,
10:54you have to go into the dark part. I have made most dark parts not too kind of scary for you,
11:03or not really that scary. Anyway, in the kids version, well, if you play the adult kind of
11:11version of it, I don't mean like an adult game, I mean like an adult version of it,
11:15then of course, the jumpscares are going to be a bit more. Of course, there's going to be a couple
11:21of different jumpscares in it. It's going to be easy, medium and hard. Now, if you're kind of
11:30unbrave and you're thinking, I won't be scared. Yeah, I think you will be. So I think, yeah. So
11:38anyway, I want to give you the option, so you can pick the game level, you can pick the kind of
11:44jumpscare you're looking for. Of course, that's entirely your decision. Of course, I can only make
11:51the animations and put them in the game world. Of course, if you are good enough and if you interact
11:58with the animations, that's great. Well, it's great for you, because you get to see certain
12:05things that you wouldn't probably normally see. But of course, that's for later on. That's for a
12:12different version of the same game. As I said, the game itself, Red Bandali, is made for a young
12:18one year old girl. So of course, I don't want that scary, because a kid's going to play it.
12:24So I think, yeah. I want plenty of fun things in there, in the kid version. So the kid can run
12:30around, do whatever kids do, basically. So I'm thinking, yep, I'm going to do that world like
12:36that. Then I'll make a teen version, an adult version. And then I'm going to make a horror
12:43version. And when I say horror, I mean horror. So of course, on the horror version, I will put at
12:52least age 25 on it. Because if I don't, he's 18. Yeah, not my one. Mine's going to be at least 25.
13:00Because, yeah, he's going to have some proper jumpscares in him.
13:07So go to exclude. This is exclude. Go on here. Zoom in. Make sure you turn on my frame for this.
13:13We need to be able to see the bottom of this thing. See here? When I snap this,
13:23if I'm trying to snap it, make sure I just snap it once. Of course, I can't snap it.
13:30I can't snap it because I'm recording. So I just kind of drag it up.
13:35So it twitches to the actual balcony thing. It's not a balcony. It's a pavement.
13:40Well, you know what I mean. Go back here. Look in your slabs. Click off them. Now,
13:46you might have to look in the balcony as well. It looks the same. But look at the step around
13:49the edge. Of course, if you go into the slab, you'll notice, look, there's actually a crack
13:58in the gaps in between the slabs. Of course, that's about the right thickness for a slab.
14:03Don't forget to be dirty with it. It's just so the water can drain off down to the green.
14:07That's what it's for. So now, what I need to do here, that came out pretty well, realistically,
14:15to tell you the truth. Came out better than I thought. But now, I need to reassemble my
14:20staircase from here because it's now no longer going to touch the surface because I've raised
14:26it up a bit. So I need to realign my staircase, which is pretty easy, but I'll do that in a
14:31different part of the video. Now, what I need to do, you see the edge of that? Now, it's going to
14:36be a really weird curve if you have it that way around and you won't trip over it. So, in order
14:44to fix that problem, what I need to do is kind of go to the edge of the curb and stretch it up.
14:50But of course, in order to do that, I need to do exactly what I've just done here, but I need to
14:56do it on the curb, around the edge. So, I want to do exactly the same thing around the edge of the
15:03curb. So, as I said, I want to basically click on the face. I'm going to click this box. I need to do
15:10every second one. This one, this one, do one, this one, like that. Otherwise, you won't do it. You
15:16just won't. And then, what I need to do is find out where I am. I'm going to click here. And all I'm
15:21going to do, basically, is scale that in. Not like that much, but anyway, you'll kind of get the idea.
15:27Zoom in. Find out where I am. Kind of flip it around to the side. And then, what I'll do is go
15:35here. Zoom in just one. And I'll drag the actual curb up, twitching the surface. And you can see
15:44now it's an actual curb, or a corpse. Now, if I do that, it's going to be at least three squares wide,
15:53I think. So, maybe I'll do that for a second. So, what I need to do, just flip it to the side view
15:58for a second. You see how it's two squares? Now, if I raise it up, it's going to be three squares.
16:03It's going to be three squares high. That is okay for my character, but when Emma's age one,
16:11she's going to kind of struggle to get off the curb. So, I need to keep it no higher than that.
16:18So, I can drop the whole thing down, but I think it's better if I don't do that.
16:24Or I could raise it. So, I need to kind of think now of a way around this, because I'm thinking,
16:32maybe you don't come across the road.
16:36Whatever. I'll think about the size of the character when she's one years old.
16:40Even though it doesn't look like much to me and you, but that's like an adult foot,
16:45so I think it's there. And you wouldn't step from here onto here and onto here,
16:51because that just wouldn't happen. And I don't want you to see the slab is that wide.
16:57So, I want to hide that part. So, I'm going to bring this part up. So, what I'm going to do,
17:02I'm going to raise this up. I'm going to raise this up, that's what I'm going to do. And then,
17:07what I'm going to do, I'm going to select the bottom and I'm going to push it up one square.
17:13That's how I want to do it. And then, that way, everything fits together absolutely perfect.
17:18Anyway, as usual, thanks very much for watching my videos. I very much appreciate it.
17:21If you haven't subscribed, please subscribe. I would appreciate it, I really would. And as I
17:26said, I do try to show you content to the best of my ability, all of the downloads,
17:30all of the free downloads, like I tell you. They're all fair game, they're good, honest,
17:33genuine links. Just click on the video, click on the download, go to the website.
17:38If you want to, look at the content, have a good look at it, thinking, oh yeah,
17:42looks not too bad. I'll do that again. Click download, download it. Do whatever you want.
17:47It's as easy and simple and straightforward as that. Anyway, as usual, thanks very much.
17:54In the next part of the video, you're going to see this part will be complete. So, I'll be showing
17:58you this part inside the Windows 3D Viewer. So, you can actually see the final result of it. So,
18:04I'll be showing you the actual mesh. I'll be showing you this part, not that. Go into here.
18:12Go into here, turn on the geometry. Inside the window, you'll see like this. So, you'll be able
18:17to see it like that. And you'll see the colour. But that way, I can make sure it's all that same
18:22colour. Otherwise, it won't work. It's going to be back to front, upside down and inside out.
18:28Anyway, come back next part and you can watch part three of me and you can see the final result
18:33and the download will be underneath that video, just to let you know that. So, if you watch my
18:39videos, under the very last video of that video tutorial series, I then put the download link for
18:45you, just so you know where it is. On video three, on all my videos, just click the button underneath
18:52the video where it says show more. Click that and you'll see the download link. Just download it and
18:55do whatever you want. Anyway, thanks very much. See you soon. Bye.
