Rene Medvešek directed Christopher Columbus minimalistically, relying on acting which creates a complete theatrical impression. It is played on an empty stage, here and there some props are used; actors drum on buckets thus creating a rhythm section... The play offers convincing evidence of the beauty of the text and its stage potential, and brings out into the open its relationship with the contemporary moment - the need for people to transform new into old and weave their dreams about becoming personally richer into new ideas.
