SOMEONE ELSE'S HEART or THEATER TREATISE ON BORDERS / TUĐE SRCE ili POZORIŠNI TRAKTAT O GRANICI
Text: Biljana Srbljanović
Director: Dino Mustafić

The new text by Biljana Srbljanović is a theatre treatise which relates to us, through warm, humane stories, without the dosing and unnecessary, harsh questioning, but with a lot of understanding and compassion, with difficult topics and issues that are, at the same time, the thematic backbone of this year's festival - "Where are the limits?" The creative team of the play Someone else's heart... processes the issue of limits through a series of sub-questions of how much and in what way the boundaries define our identities, whether and how they stifle the development of a creative individual, and what is actually the problem – physical limits, state borders or is the problem actually in our minds. Director Dino Mustafić builds this play through simple, unpretentious but effective theatrical language. The play does not consist of a single dramatic story, but of a series of stories and anecdotes that vividly represent different aspects of the problem of borders in the region. Acting is documentary. Video pieces contribute to the atmosphere and associative performances. Great value of both the text and the play is that at this very moment it talks about things that many think about, but prefer not to speak. The play speaks about issues that many testify about but we’d rather not listen, or if indeed we do listen, we helplessly shrug our shoulders and turn away. It points out the problems that we know exist, but cannot resolve or would rather not engage in.
