The big summer travel season is upon us.
And a significant percentage of travelers are couples going on a romantic escape.
The dating website Zoosk recently conducted a survey asking 1529 Americans about preferences relating to travel and romance.
Interestingly, 69% of men and 72% of women surveyed in the age range 18-49 said sex on vacation is better.
They were also asked about the type vacation they thought was most romantic. Not surprisingly, the top choice was a beach vacation.
22% of those polled mentioned the beach as that ideal romantic getaway. It's hard to resist the cool ocean breeze and sound of sea waves.
The 2nd choice was an escape to a city with a romantic feel.
A cruise can't be that far behind - it was the 3rd choice with 15% of the participants opting that option for a romantic vacation.
Other responses included visiting an exotic and distant place, spending some time at a bed & breakfast and going on a road trip.
