Paraphrasing the famous and too often used sentence by Tolstoy, Frljic's play could point to how every happy family is boring in the same way, and each unhappy one interesting in its own way. Naturally, in this dissolution of a family system, the goal of the author is not achieving a psycho-therapeutic effect nor unmasking parents' imperfections and weaknesses – on the contrary, one of the greatest values of the project is found in the very transposition of the personal into the general, in reaching an archetypal model where the family in which Oliver Frljic grew up can become any other one, more or less similar.
