Bear saves California hiker from mountain lion attack

A California man has told how a bear saved him from certain death after he was attacked by a mountain lion while out hiking. Robert Biggs, 70, had just finished observing a bear and her cubs when a mountain lion jumped on his back. After trying unsuccessfully to fight off the lion, the female bear grabbed the lion off his back. The animals fought for a while before the lion ran off. Sources: Paradise Post, ABC
