Most women that struggle with fertility either naturally tend toward stress & anxiety, or have acquired this trait as a result of unsuccessfully trying to get pregnant. Biologically, stress releases chemicals into the body which reduce blood supply to the reproductive organs, blood is food for our eggs and sperm.

Coffee contains caffeine which is a leading cause of heightened stress and anxiety. It also crosses the placenta and can cause miscarriage when over-consumed. Pregnant women, especially if there is a history of infertility of pregnancy loss, should avoid coffee all together, even decaf as the volitile oils still stimulate the adrenal glads causing anxiety.

If it absolutely cannot be avoided, you just really want to enjoy a great organic dark roast, or get that lift of energy usually so absent in early pregnancy, current literature states that no more than 2 measured cups of coffee or less than 200mg of caffeine should be consumed in one day.
