SUPER-RUGBY 2011 WEEK 9 http://ruggachick.com/ http://twitter.com/RuggaChick MY MATCH REPORT: So we’ve reached the halfway mark in the competition and the weekends play kicked off when the Chiefs welcomed the Crusaders. Reuter’s ran with the Headline: Dagg Sparks Counter attacking Crusaders to win over Chiefs. Well the Chiefs might have given the Crusaders a go early in the game, but the Crusaders dominated the breakdown points and are the masters of counter attacks. Then the newcomers hosted the Highlanders. The Rebels had another Rugby lesson and this time by the Highlanders when they were outscored two tries to six. The Rebels featured for the 1st 20min of the game, but after that the Highlanders were in control and I agree with their Captain... They did play some pretty attractive Rugby! In Eden Park the Blues and the Tahs gave each other a go! The Tahs lost it, their defensive line was shocking when the Blues gave them a whipping in the 1st half, to have a huge lead at half-time! The Tahs denied the Blues a point in the 2nd half and managed to reach the try-line, but the Highlanders out-played them and were by far the fitter team. The Reds and the Bulls put up a huge fight when they gave each other a go in SunCorp Stadium. The Bulls seriously had to prove a point after last week and they did arrive, but the Reds brought them a huge game! Quick ball in hand and the pace of the Reds produced 6 tries. Then in South Africa the Lions welcomed the Stormers at Coca-cola Park. The Stormers were quick out of the Blocks, but the Lions were determent to play their hearts out and gave them a good go! Sport 24 Ran with the headline: Sweet and Sour for Stormers. Well it was very close in the end, thankfully for the Stormers’ their defense was rock solid. In Bloemfontein the Cheetahs and the Canes produced THE game of the weekend. It’s clear the Cheetah’s were hungry for some decent Rugby on their home ground, but the Canes didn’t back off. It was a thrilling game with 11 tries and the lead changed 12 times. ...
