The title of this film implies a verb; an action that a man will inflict and a woman will suffer. The verb which defines this action for us however is precisely that which is absent. Among all the things we might imagine a man doing to a woman, what we notice is that not a single one of them is depicted is taking place in this film. Thus there is a proliferation of signifiers which lead us to the conclusion that a man does not do anything to a woman. Instead a man performs a series of completely arbitrary 'moments' none of which are inflicted by a man nor suffered by a woman and are enough to confuse the Goldilocks of any pseudo-objective observer. It is from this cesspool of retards that the word 'love' confounds us, causing Michael Bolton in 1991 to sing "when a man loves a woman/he wears a green superhero outfit/and worries about finances."
