In his recent travels across India with Ricky Martin and a nameless Romanian midget, director Elliot Cooper had time to reflect on his technique. "Since my return to the shores of electric Japan," he stated in a recent interview with Friday magazine, "I strive to thrust more Zen into my films by thinking less while producing them." In an uncharacteristic political aside he also noted, "AKB48s succession to the Imperial throne has been a great source of inspiration and I am planning to spend the next 24 years in seclusion making a 48 hour film about the event." On working with the cryptic Bollian director Markus Uhl, Cooper says "Uhl did a job that I could've done myself. He put the fucking camera on the ground and pressed fucking the button. But I enlisted him for this work because without him the film simply wouldn't have that earnest tinge of German anus about it." Mutsumi Yamazaki, star of 'Yodobashi Camera: A Movie' and Shoko Okuyama, star of 'From Space' are also working with Cooper again. "The actresses are supurb," he said at the launch of the film while spilling his drink down the front of Jun Matsumoto's dress, "I mean, fuck, just look at 'em."
