"Woyzeck" KARAHASAN - BÜCHNER

This videoclip shows the beginning of the performance of "Woyzeck" written by Georg Büchner and adopted for the stag by Dževad Karahasan directed by Herbert Gantschacher for ARBOS - Company for Music & Theatre. The poet Georg Büchner(1813-1837) wrote a fragment of a drama about the story of "Woyzeck". The poet Dževad Karahasan from Sarajevo(Bosnia & Herzegovina) has created his own version from the fragments. In the center of the dramatisation of Karahasan is the "Corrosion of Character". About the conflict Karahasan says: "Woyzeck has a lot of part-time jobworks. That does not work, because Woyzeck as a human being has not the eternal power to survive in all these jobs."
