Brandon and I used to ride bikes, rollerblade, play baseball, and in high school after I broke my neck and was getting back to the gym, we lifted weights and "crushed" protein shakes! In college, Brandon herniated discs in his low back lifting weights, so after we re-connected, I recommended that he start riding bikes with me. I have found with my clients that along with core training and stretching, cycling is great therapy for low back pain. It is also great for your cardiovascular system and helps get blood and oxygen to your discs in your spine. Now you can find Brandon and I on the trails most weekends riding our hearts out and having just as much fun as we did as kids. Research is showing that being involved with a community and having friends is a key component to living a long and healthy life.
