00:00White Trash Alert
00:08You know what I hate?
00:11What do you hate, Dave?
00:13I hate when my monkey gets away from me when I'm in the dollar store.
00:18I hate that, too.
00:19It is the worst. They need to make dollar stores better for that.
00:21They do.
00:22They need a monkey wrangling location.
00:25Or a spot to spank that monkey.
00:27Make the aisles more monkey friendly.
00:28Make it better.
00:30Maybe a monkey cage.
00:31When we come in, we can put them in there.
00:33They'll need several, obviously.
00:35Monkey daycare or something.
00:37Yeah.
00:38That just happened to a woman in Texas.
00:42And now police are asking the public to be on the lookout for a seven-month-old monkey
00:45escaped from its owner at a Dollar General store.
00:52Someone's going to find that monkey, and they're going to keep that monkey.
00:57Seven months old.
00:58Yeah.
00:59Last seen wearing a diaper.
01:02Yeah.
01:03Did that guy see him?
01:04No.
01:05He's the news anchor there.
01:07Okay.
01:07He's the news anchor in Texas.
01:09He looks very off.
01:11But anyway, here's the story of the dollar store monkey from KLTV.com.
01:17Let's listen in.
01:19Police in Polk County Animal Control is on the lookout for an escaped capuchin monkey in Corrigan.
01:23The support animal got away from its owner at a Corrigan Dollar General store after she bought it some water.
01:28Store manager Lawrence Jolly saw the situation unfold.
01:31She came and bought the bottle.
01:34She said this is for my pet monkey.
01:37And so she go outside.
01:40She feeds the monkey.
01:43Monkey bitter took off.
01:45The name of the monkey is Boss, and he is a seven-month-old service animal currently in training.
01:50Jolly says Boss took off into the woods behind the store, still wearing a white diaper it had been given by its owner.
01:55Corrigan Mayor Jonna Gibson says the Polk County Animal Control is trying to recapture the monkey without harm.
02:01Polk County Animal Control has been looking, and there's a trap set with some bananas, a trap that will not harm the monkey.
02:08It's a live trap.
02:09So they're hoping that the bananas will lure the monkey into the cage, and they can catch it that way.
02:14It is legal to own a monkey in the state of Texas.
02:16The average range of price can be from about $4,000 to $7,000 to own one.
02:20Even so, the sight of a pet monkey escaping from its owner in a Dollar General parking lot is far from an everyday sight.
02:27I seen it, and the monkey was dying.
02:30I couldn't believe it.
02:31I didn't know it happened.
02:33Severin Lavinstein, KTRE, East Texas, News 9.
02:37All I can see is those cheetos popcorn.
02:37Now here's another look at what a capuchin monkey looks like.
02:41Now this is not an actual picture of the monkey that is lost.
02:45Mayor Gibson encourages anyone who has seen Boss the monkey, if they have any information on its whereabouts, to call Corrigan Police.
02:54I mean, I think you know what a monkey is when you see that.
02:57You have to put a picture up.
02:59This is what a monkey looks like.
03:01It's not him, though.
03:02This is not that monkey.
03:04That's not Boss.
03:05So if you see this one, let it go.
03:08That's just a different one.
03:09We're looking for one named Boss.
03:10Boss.
03:11Boss.
03:12No.
03:12But he looks similar to this picture, which is a monkey.
03:15Now I saw a monkey, but he looked just like that.
03:18Yep.
03:19Is that the one?
03:20No.
03:20No.
03:21Just keep moving.
03:22We repeat, this is not the picture of the missing monkey, Boss.
03:26This is just a picture of a monkey, in case you are unfamiliar what a monkey looks like.
03:32Slow it down.
03:33Let me write it down.
03:34Okay.
03:34Not this monkey.
03:37All right.
03:38Different monkey.
03:39I'll keep looking.
03:40I hope that banana trap works.
03:43We put out traps with bananas.
03:46Hi.
03:46How you doing?
03:48I put out some banana traps in hopes that we could catch the monkey, but I'm going to be
03:58honest.
03:58It's fine because it's a live trap.
04:01Oh, okay.
04:02Do you normally place food in traps?
04:05Sometimes if the food makes it to the trap.
04:07I started with six bananas.
04:12Oh.
04:12We left with one banana.
04:14Oh, goodness.
04:15Well, hopefully you leave that one in there.
04:17I did.
04:18You're with animal control then.
04:21Yeah.
04:22Do you yourself eat meat?
04:25Yes, obviously.
04:27Obviously.
04:28I do.
04:30Lots of it.
04:31Barbecue.
04:33I have never eaten monkey meat.
04:36Is it normal for service animals to bite people?
04:40Yes.
04:40Yes.
04:41Of course.
04:42Okay.
04:42They're trained.
04:43Yes.
04:43To kill.
04:44And where you are there in Texas, you can legally bring your monkey into the dollar
04:49store.
04:50You can do whatever you want with him.
04:53I had my monkey at the salon, which is why my hair had a little bit of a mishap.
04:59I see.
05:00It looks off.
05:01Yeah.
05:01I thought that's just how you did it.
05:03No.
05:03The monkey grabbed the shears and just started going haywire.
05:09Everything's fine though.
05:10Are you sure?
05:11Sure.
05:11Okay.
05:12All right.
05:13I was going for like a Miley Cyrus.
05:17Like I want to be sexy like Miley.
05:19Well, you definitely look like a wrecking ball, ma'am.
05:21That's for sure.
05:22You're shaped like one.
05:23Thanks.
05:23You're welcome.
05:24Yeah.
05:25Miley Cyrus.
05:26Johanna.
05:26Jumped on my shoulders.
05:28Ma'am, did you bring potato salad to the interview?
05:31I don't leave the house without it.
05:34She looks like she has potato salad everywhere.
05:35She does.
05:36Yeah, she does.
05:36She's always bringing it in.
05:38I think she's made of about 25% potato.
05:40I bet hers is good.
05:41Not that I would eat it, but I bet hers is good.
05:43I can catch it that way.
05:45Yeah, I bet she makes a mean potato salad.
05:46She sure does.
05:49That's the first thing I thought when I saw her.
05:51I'm like, that woman looks like she makes a really good potato salad.
05:54I bet it's real moist.
05:57Yeah.
05:57Right amount of mustard.
05:58Yeah.
05:59Johanna, how's your potato salad?
06:01Delicious as always.
06:05Go and get it.
06:06Hey, who's monkey is that?
06:10Oh, that's boss.
06:11Quick.
06:12Monkey stole a potato salad.
06:14My God.
06:17She's a larger lady, but hopefully they get that.
06:20Hopefully they get that.
06:21Yeah.
06:22Yeah.
06:24Okay.
06:28Okay.
06:31All right.
06:37Let's see.
