00:00Backstage here with Carly Pierce. We're about ready to get out there and tear it up for
00:05guitar pool. Carly, thank you for being here. Thanks for having me. You look fantastic.
00:09Thank you. How are you doing cold weather? It's a little colder in Florida than I thought
00:13it was going to be. I don't know if I like this. We like it for about three hours. Yeah.
00:18Okay. Like for one night, it's fine. It's fun. It gives us an excuse to, you know, put
00:22on a little jacket and stuff. But besides that, it's like, okay, wait, get back to the
00:25pool weather, please. So just a few minutes ago, your new husband rolled in and rolled
00:30out. By the way, he looks great in that red jacket. I don't know if you're going to do
00:33with that, but I help him with his fashion choices. Really? No, actually he does it all
00:38himself. Really? That's actually surprising. Yeah. Cause he did. He, I really liked his
00:42outfit. He does good. He really does. And I, we were thinking we were kind of going
00:45back. You guys been married about a month now. This kind of the first performance
00:49as a married couple together on a stage in a guitar pool setting. Yeah. Yes, it is
00:55actually. Wow. This is like a, this is like a moment. It's a moment. Yeah. Thanks
01:01for having us both on a show so we can see each other. That's what he said. He's
01:05like, I haven't only seen her like three, four times since we've been married. He's
01:07like, so this is great. I was like, it's like a performance and a family reunion.
01:10It's true. Pretty cool. It's true. And I had asked him, so it's kind of like the
01:13newlywed game. Cause I asked him what has changed since you got married. I'm not
01:17going to tell you his answer. What's your answer to that? Um, I would tell you
01:22that his answer was that we were already living in sin. Yes. Oh my gosh. She
01:27knows that. Verbatim by the way. Yeah. We were already living in sin. Um, we have
01:31the same answer that it just is like a deeper connection. Yeah. So nothing has
01:35really like changed for us, but it just feels like we're, we're closer. All
01:40right. Well you passed the newlywed game cause that's verbatim exactly what he
01:43said. Got it. He even said it was just, it's more comfortable. Yeah. It is more
01:46comfortable. Yeah. Everybody really excited, obviously that you're here
01:49tonight. I love this guitar pool setting. I just love the format of it
01:53because it's unscripted. I feel like it's artists doing a lot of
01:57storytelling. Anything can kind of happen. Um, for you, how does that, how
02:02does that kind of appeal to your, your senses as opposed to real produced, you
02:06know, second by second planned out show? I mean, kind of anything can happen
02:09here. Yeah. I actually prefer this type of setting. Um, I feel like my music
02:15lends itself more to the storyteller aspect of things. So I really like it.
02:20I, uh, and I love playing theater. So, uh, but yeah, you never know. And you
02:24stick Michael and I in the same round. I don't know. We'll see what happens.
02:28I know is possibly, could we get a duet maybe? I don't know. Maybe. He said in the
02:33house, he's the one singing and that you're not, even though you're the better
02:36singer. Okay. I got to make sure I don't trick myself into this. Um, I am not a
02:42better singer than him, but yeah, I don't sing at all when we're home and he sings
02:46constantly like while he's using the bathroom, while he's doing his hair, while
02:51he's laying in bed. I'm like, shut up. It could be so much worse though. Cause he's a
02:55professional singer. Yeah. He's actually a great singer. Regular singers. Yeah. At
03:00least it sounds really great. He did say that he had to say, Carly, some people pay
03:04to hear this and you're getting it for free. That's exactly what he said. So I
03:07feel very lucky to get a Michael Wright concert every day. What nice of him for
03:11free before we, uh, before we let you go and get you out there. Um, when it comes
03:15to, you know, guitar pools and this kind of unscripted thing, some people break out
03:18cover songs. What's the strangest or most kind of just most interesting song that
03:22you've covered where people were like, Oh my gosh, you're singing that.
03:26The most unique song, uh, hip hop could be, I tend to do just like 90s country and
03:35Dolly, but I did at one point cover. Is it love yourself? Justin Bieber? Yes.
03:41Notice I'm like, I have no idea, but then Melody's like, Oh yes. Yeah. But it was
03:47still kind of like, I don't know. It wasn't anything crazy. It was still like in
03:50the wheelhouse of something I could do. You don't want to see me do anything crazy.
03:53I think y'all want to see her do something crazy and maybe we will. I want to hear some
03:57Justin Bieber from you. I wouldn't mind. Maybe I'll just bust it out again. This is Carly
04:01Pierce. It's going to be great to have her on stage. Thank you all for being here for
04:04the QYK.
04:04Take a good time.
