00:02The Department of Social Welfare and Development, or DSWD,
00:06helped an association open a laundry shop in Zamboanga, Sibugay.
00:10Romel Ignacio of Philippine Information Agency, Zamboanga, Sibugay, tells us more.
00:16The Department of Social Welfare and Development, or DSWD,
00:19through its Sustainable Livelihood Program,
00:22marked another milestone with the opening of a laundry shop
00:25by the Faith SLP Association in Poblasyon Diplahan, Zamboanga, Sibugay.
00:30The project was funded with a $270,000 livelihood grant
00:33to support the members of the association
00:35in establishing a more stable and sustainable source of income.
00:40The newly established business is expected to strengthen
00:43the association's financial capacity and improve the livelihoods of its members.
00:47In the program, Sustainable Livelihood Program,
00:50we're happy that we provided the assistance.
00:56And with regards to their project,
00:58hopefully, they will live in our expectation
01:03that it will be successful on the project right now.
01:07DSWD SLP in Zamboanga, Sibugay continues to aim
01:10at uplifting the quality of life of Sibugaynons
01:13through livelihood initiatives.
01:14The agency seeks to empower communities toward a more progressive future.
01:19DSWD also encourages other associations
01:22to take part in their livelihood programs
01:24to widen opportunities for income and development across the province.
