00:00Only 14% of Malaysian adults feel that the government cares significantly about their well-being,
00:07according to an international poll which places the country in the bottom half of a group comprising its ASEAN neighbours.
00:13Malaysia came in 7th out of the 9 ASEAN countries in the World Risk Poll by Lloyds Register Foundation,
00:21which is conducted once every two years.
00:24The Philippines ranked highest at 34%, followed by Indonesia at 33% and 32% for Singapore,
00:31where respondents felt their government cared a lot about them.
00:34Cambodia and Laos recorded 30% and 23% respectively, while Thailand stood at 16%, Vietnam at 13% and Myanmar the lowest at 7%.
00:46However, 40% of Malaysians felt that their neighbours cared a lot about them.
00:52Second only to Indonesia at 51% and ahead of the Philippines at 35%.
00:56In this category, Singapore had the smallest percentage with just 13% of the people believing that their neighbours cared a lot about their well-being.
