00:00Well, we've got a cold front moving in today ahead of it.
00:02Temperatures will be warmer but cooler than normal the next several days
00:05with some rain and snow showers toward north and west.
00:07And next week looks pretty quiet with spring temperatures returning.
00:21Lows this morning were generally below freezing.
00:23Upper 20s to around 30 degrees.
00:25That's close to normal, though the normal morning lows now
00:29are about right around the freezing mark and the normal high up to about 51.
00:34Teens to the north with the fresh snowpack there.
00:37So temperatures a little cooler than normal this morning
00:40and generally cooler than normal temperatures here right through Monday
00:42and Tuesday before we see things warm back up again.
00:45Highs will be about 50 plus here for the Twin Cities south and east
00:50ahead of that front, but just 30s in northwestern Minnesota
00:53where they're going to see some rain and snow showers again today.
00:55This is ahead of a cold front.
00:56Not a significant system, but a line of broken line of scattered rain
00:59and snow showers that will largely fizzle out as it moves east and southeast.
01:03We might see some brief snow showers in the wee hours of the morning tomorrow,
01:07but generally accumulations will be just to the north and west
01:12with an inch or less for most places, though a couple of inches possible
01:15up around Ely into the Boundary Waters.
01:17They'll see some of those snow showers today and then tomorrow
01:20some pop up snow showers in the afternoon.
01:21But if we look at just precip overall, you can see
01:26probably nothing much measurable here for the southeastern quadrant of the state.
01:30Moisture will just kind of run out as that system moves east
01:33and southeast through the day today into tonight.
01:35But it will be cooler behind it tomorrow.
01:36Mid 40s across southern Minnesota, 30s to the north,
01:39and then briefly warmer again Sunday.
01:41Kind of a little seesaw here through the early part of the week
01:45ahead of the next round of colder air moving in from Monday.
01:48But we are going to see sunshine break out.
01:50Mix of clouds and sun today, but sunny skies tomorrow for southern Minnesota.
01:53More clouds to the north.
01:54Again, we will see some pop up snow showers and some of those clouds
01:58for northern Minnesota tomorrow.
01:59Those are instability driven, but low to mid 50s again Sunday.
02:03Still cooler 30s and 40s to the north, but short lived
02:06because we're going to see a pretty potent blast of cold air swing south.
02:10Cooler tomorrow, but a little warmer, as I mentioned, Sunday.
02:13And then here comes that blast of colder air for Monday.
02:16Even with sunshine, strong April sun on Monday, many parts of the state,
02:20if not most of Minnesota, won't get out of the 30s.
02:22And then we're back to above normal temperatures
02:24mid to late week next week into next weekend.
02:27But Monday, yeah, 30s and 20s for highs for much of central and northern
02:31Minnesota, maybe squeezing out a 40 here in the southern part of the state
02:35with sunshine that is as strong as August gives you an idea of how
02:40cold that air is moving in about 10 degrees below normal, at least on Monday.
02:44But just for one day by Tuesday, we're back close to 50.
02:48We're into the 50s or near 60 Wednesday and into the 60s here
02:52for southern Minnesota Thursday into next weekend, maybe even 70 degrees again.
02:55But today through Tuesday, five day temperature anomalies.
02:59Yeah, below normal for the central part of the country here
03:01by a good five to ten degrees, but we're going to flip it
03:05Thursday into next weekend.
03:07Temperatures will be above normal for much of central U.S.
03:11into much of central Canada, too, especially up around Hudson Bay.
03:15Temperatures will be way above normal and really no precipitation to speak of.
03:18Other than that chance today and tonight, again, largely for northern
03:22and western Minnesota, we'll see maybe a spotty chance of showers Thursday.
03:25This is a pretty insignificant system the way it's looking right now.
03:28That's really the only chance of moisture
03:30after tonight to speak of over the next seven to ten days.
03:34Fifty one in the Twin Cities today, so that's close to normal.
03:37Tomorrow, though, back below normal sunshine, though, 45 degrees.
03:43A couple of frosty mornings here and then 52 Sunday temperatures drop Monday.
03:49Struggling to reach 40, even with sunshine, but popping up quickly here.
03:5350 Tuesday, close to 60 already Wednesday and into the 60s.
03:58Thursday again, slight chance of a shower or two Thursday, but warmer.
04:01And beyond that, it looks like we stay in the 60s Friday, Saturday, Sunday,
04:05if not 70 degrees, I think southwestern Minnesota will hit 70 late next week.
