00:00In the Group 1 results released by the State Government,
00:04Harshavardhan, who has achieved the 6th rank in the state,
00:06and Harshavardhan, who has been promoted to Miriyalagudi.
00:08Harshavardhan is with us now.
00:09He is going to answer the questions about the qualifications and how to achieve the 6th rank.
00:13First of all, you have achieved the 6th rank in the state. Congratulations to you.
00:17How did you achieve the 6th rank?
00:20Actually, I am very happy with the 6th rank in the Group 1 results released recently.
00:25For the last 2-3 years, I was a little tensed and worried that I might get dragged again.
00:31But now, I am very happy that the process has been completed and I have achieved the 6th rank.
00:39So, I believe that if we continuously and persistently prepare,
00:43we will definitely get the results that we want at some point in the future.
00:46So, that helped me a lot.
00:47What is your family's name? What do your parents do?
00:50Where did you complete your schooling? What is your qualification?
00:53My father's name is Poonat Tirupathravar. My mother's name is Poonat Rajalakshmi.
00:56I have been studying in Miriyalagudi, Nalgonda district since my childhood.
00:59I completed my schooling in Sri Prakash school in Avanthipuram.
01:04After that, I studied in the entire Sri Chaitanya Junior College.
01:07I got the IIT rank in 2000 and got a seat in the BITS campus as well.
01:13So, I took B.Tech Computer Science in BITS planning.
01:15After 4 years, I got a good placement in the campus in an Amazon company in Bangalore.
01:20So, I joined there.
01:22You got a good package, then you left your salary in lakhs.
01:25Then, why did you want to come here after getting a government job?
01:27Then, why did you want to come to Group 1?
01:30So, when I was doing that job, I had a feeling.
01:33I mean, if the salary is good and the job is good, the facilities are good.
01:37Somewhere, I felt that I should get stuck in this for the rest of my life
01:41and should not interact with the public and should do my work.
01:45So, at the same time, many people cleared UPSC from our state and it seemed like an inspiration to me.
01:51So, why should we not clear it?
01:53Similarly, I resigned my job and started UPSC preparation to go back to public life.
02:00When you were preparing for civils and when you gave attempts, you did not get a rank in that.
02:04So, how did you manage to prepare for Group 1?
02:07I gave civils and mains four times.
02:09I gave forestry once as well.
02:10So, I gave mains almost five times.
02:12I did not clear for the interview.
02:14So, when I gave mains in the first attempt,
02:17I used to think that my preparation was still less and I could study more.
02:22So, I thought that I was improving over the last two years.
02:26But somewhere, I had some deficiency.
02:28So, when I was preparing for our Telangana Group 1, I tried to modify these a little.
02:33So, obviously, when I came, I had a very low feeling.
02:36But when I came for the first time, I mentally decided that this is not a process of one year or two years.
02:40Let us try as long as we can.
02:42So, I was doing it persistently.
02:44I had a belief that if we keep improving, we will get a rank one day.
02:48And finally, I got that rank in our Group 1.
02:51Students compete in the competition for lakhs of rupees.
02:56They can be students who prepare for competitive exams.
02:58They can be young students.
02:59How do they get government jobs?
03:01Actually, this is my best example.
03:04Government jobs are given to many people only in the first attempt.
03:09Many issues happen to us and get cancelled.
03:11So, you should not worry about that.
03:13Your only focus should be on your preparation.
03:15Another thing is that revision is the most important thing.
03:18If we just write the notes directly, the syllabus is very big.
03:21If the revision is done just one day or one week before, we will not remember anything.
03:24So, if you revise daily for one hour, it will help us a lot for the day before the exam.
03:32Because we have only 4-5 hours for the exam.
03:34We write one exam and go to the next exam.
03:36In those 4-5 hours, your syllabus will be almost like a bundle of 1-2 books.
03:40It is very difficult to revise all that.
03:41So, if you write notes separately and revise the data points, it will help us to fetch extra marks.
03:48So, if you add notes making, introduction, conclusions, data, etc.
03:51Over the time, you will know that your answer writing structure has improved.
03:54It will finally reflect to you.
03:56So, if you feel that you are improving, you can read it.
03:59But you should not just come randomly and pass the time.
04:03You should put a timetable and follow that timetable.
04:05Actually, it is very difficult.
04:06We will put a timetable, but we will not follow it.
04:08So, you should take the test series.
04:10It is very good to have constant mentor guidance.
04:12He will keep telling you the improvements.
04:14So, even if you fail 1-2 times while preparing, you can try.
04:17You have definitely achieved your goal.
04:21I am the best example for that.
04:22We have Harshavardhan's parents with us.
04:25Tell us, how do you feel that your son has achieved 6th rank in the state exam?
04:28We feel very happy now.
04:30But, it is difficult for him.
04:32He was not always at home.
04:34He was always in the hostel.
04:36He did not come home once a year for any function.
04:40He was always in Delhi and Hyderabad.
04:43He struggled a lot.
04:46But, we have faith in him.
04:49He has achieved his goal.
04:51How do you feel?
04:53I am very happy.
04:55I feel that his hard work has finally paid off.
04:59At first, he did not come for the civils exam.
05:02He was a little disappointed.
05:04We were also a little disappointed.
05:06So, we decided to give it a try.
05:08He tried till the end.
05:10We formed a group.
05:12We decided to give it a try.
05:14He struggled for so many years.
05:16He struggled for so many years.
05:18We thought that he would come.
05:20He came.
05:22We are very happy.
05:24Tell us, what is your final goal?
05:26When I quit my job and joined UPSC,
05:28I came with the goal of becoming an IAS home cadre.
05:30I came with the goal of becoming an IAS home cadre.
05:32But, I could not achieve that goal.
05:34I was lucky to complete a similar group.
05:36anywhere.
05:40I hope to achieve my goal again.
05:58Harshad Gandhi also says that
