00:00Welcome to your evening weather update from the Met Office. Lots of sunshine
00:04through Monday across England and Wales and England, Wales, Northern Ireland and
00:08Scotland should all have plenty of sunshine on Tuesday. The cloud that we've
00:13seen today across Northern Ireland melting away through the evening as it
00:16is across Northern Scotland. Any showers also disappearing to leave a dry night.
00:21Lengthy clear spells but it could turn a bit murky, a bit misty. One or two fog
00:24patches over perhaps parts of East Anglia, certainly East Midlands up
00:27towards Lincolnshire. Elsewhere though generally we keep the clear skies. Enough
00:31of a breeze continues across the southwest, if anything likely to
00:35strengthen as we go through the night. That'll help to keep the temperatures up
00:38here and similarly in Western Scotland. But where we've got lighter winds across
00:43the heart of the country, central eastern parts of particular temperatures, well
00:46down into single digits and we might even get down to freezing in one or two
00:51spots. So a chilly cool fresh start to April, maybe a bit murky as well with
00:56this mist, low cloud and bit of fog over parts of the East Midlands. May drift up
01:00across parts of Northern England for a time but should be gone by mid-morning.
01:04Maybe a little bit of mist and low cloud at times on some of these North Sea
01:07coasts but for the vast majority it is a sparkling day of spring sunshine. The
01:13sun's got a bit of a welly in it this time of year so it should lift the
01:16temperatures inland. For many though with more of a breeze certainly across the
01:20south it will be a little cooler than Monday. We should still get into the mid
01:25teens, maybe high teens across parts of North Wales, North West England and
01:29certainly North West Scotland. A bit warmer than Monday with highs here maybe
01:34up to 19 perhaps even 20 degrees Celsius. Feeling cooler though wherever we've got
01:38the breeze coming in from the sea. Some of those North Sea coasts a little on
01:42the cool side and again a bit fresh with that brisk wind which will be stronger
01:45than Monday across southern England and South Wales. That will continue to blow
01:50through Tuesday evening elsewhere generally. We've got the clear skies continuing. A bit more of an
01:56easterly flow though so just a suggestion of a bit more har and fret
02:01drifting onto eastern coast as we head into Wednesday. Again inland maybe a bit
02:05of mist over some of the hills but generally temperatures not quite so cold
02:10over the Midlands and eastern England but a bit colder to start Wednesday
02:14compared to Tuesday. Across parts of Scotland a greater chance of seeing a
02:18touch of frost through some sheltered glens here. But again Wednesday generally
02:22another fine day with lots of spring sunshine, any early mist and low cloud
02:26disappearing. As I said a bit more of an easterly flow so again noticeable with
02:31that breeze on those eastern coast of England and again quite breezy at times
02:35across southern parts of England and Wales too particularly in the far
02:38southwest. So that will make it feel a little cooler despite plenty of sunshine
02:43but temperatures generally ticking up elsewhere more widely in the mid to high
02:47teens in places and probably Thursday seeing the peak of the temperatures this
02:52week. Notice that mist and low cloud though just threatened to get a little
02:56closer under this area of high pressure. That kind of sinks away and then we see
03:01high pressure building to the north of the UK still keeping things largely dry.
03:06Small chance for shower in the southwest on Thursday but as the high shifts its
03:10position we do get more of that easterly flow coming in so a greater chance of
03:15some mist and low cloud on those eastern coasts particularly so by Friday. For
