00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. thanked the United Arab Emirates

00:06following the giving of clemency to more than 100 Filipinos imprisoned there.

00:11According to President Marcos, this is a reflection of the strong friendship between the two countries.

00:17This is Claycel Pardilian of PTV in Balitang Pambansa.

00:22The President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan,

00:28thanked the 115 Filipinos imprisoned in the UAE.

00:33According to President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.,

00:37the UAE Embassy directly contacted the Department of Foreign Affairs,

00:42Office of the Middle East and African Affairs,

00:45to inform about the giving of clemency and good news in the face of Ramadan.

00:51Last year, in the occupation of Edil Adha,

00:55143 Filipinos were released,

00:59while 220 Filipinos were given pardon in the U.S. occupation of the UAE.

01:07President Marcos, Jr. thanked the Philippine government of the UAE.

01:15This is a reflection of the special partnership and strong friendship between the two countries

01:22in the face of friendship and respect between President Marcos and Sheikh Mohammed.

01:29It also shows the importance of the UAE government

01:34to almost one million Filipinos living in the country.

01:40President Marcos praised the pain of the UAE,

01:44which became a reason to give a second chance

01:48to Filipinos who were able to live a new life

01:51and to be with their families

01:54whom they haven't seen for years.

01:57President Marcos also emphasized the strengthening of bilateral relations between the Philippines and the UAE,

02:04which ensures that the goodwill of the UAE

02:08will pave the way for continued cooperation,

02:12understanding, and prosperity of the two countries to each other in the coming years.

02:18Remember, in November 2024,

02:21President Marcos directed the UAE

02:25to hold a working visit

02:27to strengthen their bilateral agreement

02:30on legal cooperation,

02:32clean energy,

02:35artificial intelligence,

02:37and digital economy.
