00:00Thank you, Caroline.
00:01I appreciate it and this opportunity for Merit TV.
00:04Two questions, if I may.
00:06One on Signal.
00:07One on the economy.
00:08Sure.
00:09On Signal, how comfortable is the President with what was shared so far now that the chain
00:14has been released?
00:15The President's view on all of this remains the same today as it did yesterday.
00:21And I think it speaks volumes about the leadership of this President that he went directly to
00:25all of you, members of the press corps.
00:27He was asked, do you want someone else to go out and do a briefing?
00:30And he said, no.
00:31I will tackle this story.
00:32I will discuss it.
00:33The people need to hear from me about this situation.
00:36And so his thoughts on this remain the same today.
00:39He has placed great trust in his national security team.
00:43And as for the usage of Signal, as the President said yesterday, as the CIA director has testified
00:48under oath, this is an approved app.
00:51It's an encrypted app.
00:52The Department of Defense, the Department of State, the CIA has it loaded onto government
00:57phones because it is the most secure and efficient way to communicate.
01:01As for, again, the original situation in this messaging thread, the National Security Council,
01:06the White House Counsel's Office continues to look in to how this mistake, which the
01:09National Security Advisor has owned, occurred.
01:13And the President has ensured they are doing that.
