00:00a former Navy helicopter pilot and a former Russian policy officer.
00:04And I have to tell you, I remember as only a teenager when I entered into the Navy getting
00:09my first security brief and understanding how important security is to our military.
00:15As we've all heard for years, loose lips sink ships.
00:19And now we have, at the top echelons of our government, people who don't seem to understand
00:24the need for any national security.
00:26We even, as you heard, had a report that someone was in Moscow.
00:30Having traveled myself to Moscow, I know the type of operational security that is expected
00:36there of military members.
00:38I know the briefings that I received.
00:39And so to think that now we have a government that has so little concern for our security
00:46is really, I think, infuriating.
00:48And to see all of these members here who have served, who know that their lives have been
00:53on the line, and know that what the minimum that they should be able to count on is that
00:58their own government is not going to sell them out to foreign adversaries, that their
01:02own government is going to take their security seriously.
01:05And yes, to think that anybody is saying now that this was not secure information or this
01:10was not secret information or classified information, anybody, anybody who knows anything about
01:17this area, and there are people on that signal chain that know better, know that this is
01:21classified information.
01:23You don't give targeting information.
01:24You don't give timing.
01:25You put people in danger.
01:27People's lives, American lives, were in danger because of that signal chain.
01:32The thought that you would be in Moscow and that nobody would be monitoring your text
01:37chains or that nobody would have access to that is really ludicrous at this day and age.
01:43I don't think anybody buys that either.
01:45So to think now that this is going to go uninvestigated or that armed services is not going to hold
01:50a hearing on this in the House is really, I think, completely disregarding what just
01:57happened, the danger of the situation, and the sense that I think we all have that if
02:01this has been reported on, we need to know what else is going on because somebody's got
02:05a clean house at the White House.
02:07And it's obviously not going to be the president, who is now up to his old trick, so I'm declassifying
02:11it.
02:12Well, too late, buddy, right?
02:13Like, this was classified information.
02:16This put lives in danger.
02:17An investigation needs to take place.
02:19That is what we are calling for, and I think the House Armed Services Committee needs to
02:23hold hearings on this and get to the bottom of it so no more service members are put in
02:28danger.
02:29So I am really glad to be here today, and with that, I am going to turn it over to my
02:33colleague, Salud Carbajal, to speak next.
