Two lorry drivers were killed when they were hit by a vehicle while changing a tyre in an incident on the shoulder of Pan Borneo Highway, at Kilometer 9, Jalan Lama Papar-Kota Kinabalu, on Saturday (March 22).

In the incident, which happened at about 2pm, the two men, aged 26 and 62, were pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries.

00:19Police said initial investigation revealed that one of the victims had stopped on the
00:23roadside to check on his lorry tyre.
00:26They said upon seeing the situation, the other victim stopped his lorry and helped
00:30to change the tyre.
00:32They said the car driven by a 23-year-old driver travelling from Kota Kinabalu to Kimanis
00:38rammed into the victims near the lorry's right front side.
00:41The two victims died at the scene due to severe injuries.
00:45Their bodies were sent to Papa Hospital for post-mortem, while the car driver and a passenger
00:51sustained minor injuries and were being treated at the hospital.
