00:14After years of controversy surrounding the live-action Snow White remake, the reviews
00:18for the film, starring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot, have been quite mixed.
00:22The Hollywood Reporter's chief film critic David Rooney called the movie a vibrant retelling
00:26from a smart script, while some other critics have called it pointless and so-dope.
00:29According to Tracking, the movie could debut in the $45 to $55 million range domestically
00:36and north of $100 million globally.
00:39Back at Disney's D23 Expo in 2022, fans saw a very short teaser of the film, to which
00:44they responded with delight.
00:46Zegler told THR this about their reaction.
00:48I know how I felt making it, and so hearing everybody's reception of it being so excited
00:54and screaming and cheering is so, it just fills your heart with such gratitude, really
00:58it does.
00:59That same day, Gadot told THR this about playing the evil queen in the film.
01:03It was amazing.
01:04It was an amazing experience.
01:07First of all, I'm grateful for the opportunity to be able to play the first iconic villain
01:12ever, and to tell her story and to get into her shoes is just like, I'm honored.
01:19Other films hitting theaters this weekend include Magazine Dreams, which sees embattled
01:23actor Jonathan Majors play a troubled aspiring bodybuilder.
01:26It is important that you find people that you can make an emotional bond with.
01:34The release comes more than two years after the movie's Sundance premiere.
01:38Majors told THR the role pushed him to the limit physically and emotionally.
01:42There's a lot at stake for the actor with this film, and its success could signal whether
01:46audiences, or Hollywood, will take him back.
01:49The sci-fi thriller Ash, starring Eiza Gonzalez and Aaron Paul, is also now in theaters.
02:00And Robert De Niro is back on the big screen this weekend in the mob drama The Alto Knights,
