00:09As we approach our 24th season, we want to thank our community for the last six years.
00:14With this milestone, we want to assure our players that we are listening, and have a
00:19renewed focus on the things that matter most to you.
00:22This year, you'll see us taking action on the things that we have heard you say matter
00:26the most, like matchmaking, anti-cheat, and competitive integrity, while also bringing
00:32a mix of brand new content and features that make it easier to play with your friends,
00:37as we find new ways to evolve and refresh the Apex experience.
00:41So today, our Design Director Evan Nikolic and I will share some of what you can expect
00:45for the next year of Apex.
00:49As part of our ongoing commitment to being more transparent with our community, we wanted
00:53to share some updates on matchmaking and anti-cheat.
00:56We want your matches to be fun first and foremost, and that can happen when you're getting stomped
01:02by high-ranked players, having games ruined by cheaters, or if you have a lack of confidence
01:07in our matchmaking and anti-cheat systems.
01:10For matchmaking, you'll see our efforts focused around three pillars.
01:14First, transparency.
01:15We want to take the guesswork out of matchmaking.
01:18Our next pillar is making things fair.
01:21Our goal is to make matches feel sharper for each game mode.
01:25And finally, we want to ensure we're continuing the conversation, so you can expect to see
01:30regular changes and tuning throughout each season.
01:33You'll see the first wave of these updates coming to Ranked, Pubs, and LTMs in Season 24.
01:41We're also tightening up the matchmaking restrictions to keep games feeling fun and fair.
01:46On the anti-cheat side, this is a never-ending battle, so we're continuing to roll out
01:51new tools and technologies to better identify and ban bad actors, while also making it harder
01:57for cheaters to get into the game in the first place.
02:00A couple of months ago, we blocked Linux access to Apex, and we're pleased to report that
02:05we've seen a meaningful reduction in the amount of cheating recently, which we hope you are
02:10feeling too.
02:11We're taking a multi-pronged approach with our work on anti-cheat, so in addition to
02:15everything happening behind the scenes, you'll also see us making player-facing changes to
02:20bolster our anti-cheat efforts.
02:23In Season 24, you'll see us rolling out a new Road to Ranked feature that'll have new
02:27Ranked players complete skill challenges in order to access the mode.
02:32This year, you can expect to see us addressing these and many other topics with updates along
02:37the way, so stay tuned.
02:39As our community and players evolve and get better, so should we.
02:44You'll see us emphasizing meta-disruption to keep the game feeling fresh.
02:48We've heard your feedback, so later this year, we're overhauling our Ranked rewards
02:53to make the climb more rewarding than ever before.
02:56That means Ranked is about competitive integrity and achievement, while Pubs is going to bring
03:01down the temperature and dial up the fun, with limited-time modes being a place to try
03:06new ways to play Apex in a lower-stakes setting.
03:09Outside of the game, the Apex Legends Global Series, also known as the ALGS, is where we
03:15celebrate the best Apex Legends players in the world, as they compete on a massive stage
03:21with millions of dollars on the line.
03:23Like our unforgettable ALGS Year 4 Championship in Sapporo, Japan, you can expect to see us
03:28bringing the competitive Apex community together, going into the next year of ALGS.
03:33With so many exciting things on the horizon, Season 24 is going to help set the tone for
03:38this next year of Apex, by pushing the meta into new places and celebrating our commitment
03:43to our community.
03:44Hi, I'm Evan Nikolic, Design Director on Apex Legends.
03:49I'm excited to give you a quick overview on some of the new things coming in Season 24.
03:55As Steve mentioned, we are taking bold swings with the meta throughout the season to keep
03:58things fresh.
03:59We're bringing back fan favorites like Three Strikes and Solace of the Twist, some exciting
04:03quality of life changes, and a few brand new features.
04:06First, we are thrilled to announce we are partnering with our community in a whole new
04:10way.
04:11With these new additions, your favorite content creators and the Apex community will help
04:14us curate challenges and the rewards for completing those challenges, including a returning Legendary
04:19Weapon skin as selected by the creator for that takeover.
04:22As Steve mentioned, disrupting the status quo with major meta shifts will be the focus
04:26for us this season and beyond.
04:29Shifting the meta will bring new ways to play with the Legends and weapons we love, and
04:32learn new skills to compete in the evolving BR arena.
04:35First, we're putting the power in your hands with our brand new weapon system called Arsenals.
04:41Arsenals take the guessing game out of looting and get you into the action faster.
04:45Arsenal Stations are located across the map, letting you choose which weapons and ammo
04:49types you want to run.
04:50That's not the only change to weapons this season.
04:52Literally every single weapon is getting a balance update, whether that's a damage increase,
04:58ammo adjustments, or updated recoil.
05:00These changes are intended to bring more power to the weapons in Apex and make every weapon
05:04feel refreshed.
05:06This season, we're shaking up the Legend meta by spotlighting the Assault class Legends.
05:10We want to give the Assault class more power to push for the kill, with extra grenades,
05:14improved recoil and weapon handling, and so much more.
05:18Weapon and Legend meta changes aren't the only spicy updates coming this season.
05:21We are replacing all helmets, except for Gold Helmets, with an ultra-rare Mythic Helmet.
05:27They will only be found in Mythic Bins and will override a player's armor to red, regardless
05:31of level.
05:32Progression to Ranked is a focus this season, we're bringing your account level information
05:36forward to better track your progress each split.
05:39Last year, we revised the end-of-match flow for Ranked to provide more clarity on your
05:43scoring and progress through the tiers.
05:45This season, we wanted to apply that same clarity to all game modes.
05:49We hope to bring more clarity and celebration to your match results and progress, no matter
05:53what you're working towards.
05:54For Quality of Life updates, during the drop phase of the match, you'll see all POI names,
05:59loot tier, and arsenal information.
06:02This will provide quicker and more effective communication with your squad and help you
06:05master the maps and POIs.
06:08This season is about keeping things fresh while improving the core Apex experience.
06:12This is just a taste of things to come, so be sure to check out our patch notes for all
