00:00UMNO Supreme Council Member Lokman Nur Adam has apologised to lawyer Rosli Dalan for defaming

00:07him by claiming that he unduly profited from the government's 1MDB asset recovery efforts.

00:14The RM50 million suit Rosli filed against Lokman in 2021 was resolved on the first day

00:19of the trial today.

00:21Rosli said the Kuala Lumpur High Court reported a consent judgement after the UMNO man accused

00:271MDB's lead counsel of receiving RM1.7 billion in legal fees or 10% of the RM17 billion settlement

00:35with Goldman Sachs in the 1MDB case.

00:38Lokman admitted in court that his statement about Rosli was false and defamatory and acknowledged

00:43that the lawyer did not claim or receive any commission from the 1MDB asset recovery value.

00:49He said the legal fees for Rosli's firm, RDS Partnership, were based on a pre-agreed time

00:55and cost, not on any commission or percentage of the recovered assets.

01:00Lokman said it was impossible for Rosli or his firm to have received any proceeds from

01:05the recovery of 1MDB's assets as they were all paid directly to the Accounting General's Department.

01:12Lokman also said he had removed all three videos containing the allegations which defamed Rosli.
