00:00Kuala Lumpur City Hall says it has identified a site for the relocation of a pre-Merdeka
00:07Hindu temple on Jalan Masjid India that was reportedly set to be demolished.
00:12In a statement, DBKL said the proposal for the construction of a mosque on land owned
00:18by a private company had attracted attention because a small portion of the land houses
00:23the Devi Sri Patrakaliaman temple.
00:26DBKL said the mosque was not proposed by the government but by the private company as the
00:31legal land owner.
00:33It also said the temple could continue to operate as usual until the relocation process
00:38is complete.
00:39DBKL assured the public that every step it takes would align with the principle of religious
00:45freedom guaranteed by the federal constitution.
00:49It also said it had taken proactive steps to help reach an amicable solution for all
00:54parties involved.
00:56The temple, which is reportedly 130 years old, is located opposite Jakol Mong.
