00:00It was a rainy early morning here at Churchill Downs, but the sun began to break through
00:06just as some of the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks contenders took to the main track.
00:11Today we spoke with trainers Chad Brown and Shugma Gehi, as well as Daniel Rossier, the
00:15exercise rider for Secret Oath.
00:19He looks super.
00:20So he had a nice final work, and you all saw him gallop yesterday.
00:22I'm just going to take him out and jog him today because the track is sealed and sloppy,
00:26so I don't want to take any chances.
00:27But, you know, I got a good draw yesterday, I couldn't be happier.
00:29I'm just going to protect him at this point, he's plenty fed, I just want to get him into
00:32the race sound and happy.
00:34Really it's up to the horse now, if he needs to break clean and put himself in some decent
00:38position in that first turn, and, you know, anything can happen in the Derby as we know it.
00:55She broke her maiden in the mud at Aqueduct, so she likes it off-track, so that doesn't
00:59bother me one bit.
01:01She had another good morning, she's had a good stay here at Churchill, and, you know,
01:05we're looking forward to Friday afternoon.
01:08Her work here Sunday was very good, or Saturday, and like I say, it's a great race, we've got
01:16a good post, I think we're coming into it the right way, and we'll see what happens.
01:21The owners are coming on Wednesday, but they're very excited.
01:25The man that owns her is 84 years old, and lives in Chicago, and he's driving down here
01:30with his daughter and son-in-law and wife tomorrow, and he said, I don't know if I've
01:37ever been this excited in my life, and he said, I've never had this much publicity,
01:40so I've got no idea what they're getting into, none.
01:55I actually got on her for the first time when they came back from Okan, and I've never
02:06been on her before, and I was terrified.
02:10And she is the classiest, like, nothing bothers her, coolest horse, and will pull on you,
02:17but comes directly back to you.
02:20And she doesn't have to, that's just her.
02:22She's just classy.
02:23She gets more powerful day by day, like, it's incredible to feel.
02:28She's easy on herself, but she loves her job, and so I think that that was the smartest
02:33thing he could have ever done, was just to let her gallop into the race.
